I am using V5.1.4.210802 I have not updated past this version due to poor play-skip performance with H264 files on all following versions.
(I am not the only one using this machine and if "SHE" is not happy it is up to me to fix it.) ((But that is another story.))
I want to manually set up a new channel on my Colossus 2 from a set top box where a guide is not available.
This was easy on V4. I may be missing the obvious with V5, but I cannot see a way set up another channel with IR Blaster without having a guide.
I tried editing a channel which is of low importance but could not find a way to edit the blaster channel number.
Do I have to return to V4 to solve this issue.

Can't you add a channel to a guide chanel and then not map the epg and manually override your blaster settings?

So simple menu driven functionality that was available in V4 is not available in V5.
I want to add a channel for which there is no guide available use manual records and the Hauppauge Blaster to switch channels.
Looks like it is back to V4.

What is your EPG source?  I don't understand why you can't do it.  I know adding multiple tuner script was difficult in  v-less so maybe it is even harder or even not possible but it still can be done with the right batch file

You can create a dummy xmltv file, with whatever channels you want to add:

Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<tv>
    <channel id="27">
        <display-name>some channel name</display-name>
    </channel>
</tv>

Then just import it. It obviously won't have any listings, but you can do manual recordings, or watch it in live tv.

That is why I asked what guide he was using for his other channels. I think you can have only source to enter the channels in the first place.

This week I started using Schedules Direct as my old guide (Webgrab + Plus on the Foxtel Site) stopped working. Wish I had known SD had most Australian Channels I would have moved sooner. I Just remapped the channels, that all works.
Tried the dummy guide managed to create a working channel but I have not been able to get the IR Blaster (Colossus 2) to work on that channel. Works on all other channels.
 I am using a Hauppauge Quad for DVBT channels, no issues there. I was using the DVBT Guide but now remapped to SD for everything.

For that faked channel in device settings can you you change the blaster configuration to point to the hardcoded channel you want?

Go into Settings->Devices, click your HDPVR, click your new channel to highlight it, then click the 'update channels' button and enter your blaster filename and any parameters.

If you've done it correctly, you should see the blaster name listed next to the channel in the list.

Took me until today to fix, spent a long time on this one. (Thank you to those who helped me along the way, especially the dummy guide bit)
Having used a Hauppauge Colossus 2 and Win TV Blaster since 2017 i should have remembered this one. First discovered it when I upgraded Hauppauge Drivers years ago and again when I upgraded to later version of W10.
It is not really an NPR issue, it is a Win TV Blaster Issue. I bet I am not the first person caught. Will remember it in future. (I hope, as I am getting old) ((70 next week))
After you change Hauppauge Colossus 2 mapping in any way you have to go to Device manager and uninstall the Colossus 2 Driver, "do not uninstall the software" then do a reboot.
Fixed!!!  I have no idea why, maybe someone younger and smarter than me will know the answer! This is also the case with driver updates if you use more than one Hauppauge Device. The colossus 2 driver must be installed last, or the Blaster will not work.
