Failed to lock signal?  I know this station comes in good and had no issue before redoing NextPVR due to issues with service stopping for unknown reasons.  Please help me.  Also getting the following error for unknown reasons:

If you do a recording from that channel, do you get a file? Does it play ok?

The crash could be the an issue with the screen saver and nothing to to with tuning.

I see this for one show

2023-05-26 03:30:00.126 [DEBUG][8] No errors, but no data delivered

Because the tuner didn't lock a signal

2023-05-26 03:30:00.731 [DEBUG][4] StartStream(): N:\npvr recordings\DROP FOLDER\NewsRadio.S02E09.The.Cane-0.ts
2023-05-26 03:30:00.732 [DEBUG][4] Calling LockChannel()
2023-05-26 03:30:02.903 [DEBUG][4] locked=0, present=0, strength=41000, quality=0 (took 2172ms to check)

Nothing NextPVR can do about that. If this is the station that you are talking about and you know it works (ie by testing WinTV) you might need to rescan.

Going to switch to hdhomerun and see if that changes anything and rescan channels, but I recently did rescan so not sure about that.  I can view live tv with no interruption from the channel in question.  It locks quickly.

The failure was on your Hauppauge tuner

Yes, I know.  I am troubleshooting that driver at the moment.  I just want the recordings to work while I mess around with Hauppauge.  Unfortunately, they don't provide drivers that are explicitly compatible.  You have to install in compatibility mode and that might just be the issue.  Although, it was working good for like 6 months.  For this reason, I would not recommend Hauppauge tuner with windows.  Support ends about a year after card released and then the product disappears from shelves for years.  I think they might even require some components from WinTV, which I hope they don't because I don't have key anymore for it.  I have a backup USB version of their quad tuner that I will use if this keeps messing up.  The USB version is like two years newer release date.  And of course no problems are showing in Device Manager despite everything pointing to hardware error.

I might just run a separate Ubuntu Nextpvr system and bet everything will work much better.  I got multiple things going on with current system like Blue Iris and Plex Server so might be for the best long term.  I need to get a stronger CPU at 5 nm for better efficiency with encoding.  Thanks for your help.  I will take it from here.

I guess Hauppage updated drivers so I don't see compatibility message anymore.

You are definitely in the minority, I personally would strongly recommend Hauppauge tuners on Windows for PCI and USB tuners, with one exception. One tuner didn't have BDA driver. You can install drivers only WinTV is needed for some licensed installations. Like all tuner companies I think they are feeling the impact of IPTV pirating and supply chain issues. As a bonus you can get some pretty good deals on Kijiji and ebay.

Your signal issue did not look like a driver issue.

No issues after updating driver.  I think it is solved.  But, I thought that when I first upgraded to W11, so I will pay attention to it.  I like hdhomeruns as I can use multiple antennas to gather channels, so when Hauppage works it is great, but more flexibility with hdhomerun to pull in more channels.  It would be nice to separate the PVR for stability to Linux, so I don't have to worry about Windows updates every week and try to schedule them in between recordings.  But, I am still tied to Windows for other applications.  I even am using Windows Server in the basement.

I was talking Hauppauge as an internal card and USB tuner not comparing with an HDHR. I haven't found them more sensitive.

I use Linux and Hauppauge is fine, but most times the drivers on Windows are better. NextPVR on both are going to be about the same stability wise, so you have little to gain plus you will lose the sleep/wake ability. Debian and Ubuntu probably update more than Windows.
