Hi all. First off, FANTASTIC program! I use it every day!
Second, I wanted to know if I can use another codec installed to record to AVI or WMV? I seem only to be able to record to MPEG2 and was hoping to get the file sizes down a bit.
Third, I can't seem to get ComSkip to work. I downloaded it and placed it in the GBPVR directory and the instructions say that GBPVR will automatically find and use it after recording, but there is no indication that it does and nothing is removed on playback. When I run COMSKIP manually on an MPEG recorded, it runs through and creates a log file, and when I look in the directory, there IS a LOG and TXT file for the new MPG I created, but it seems GBPVR isn't using it on playback. The instructions say to "Hit 0 then hit skip button" but hitting 0 does nothing and I don't know what the skip button is.
I'm using the WDM Driver plug in on a Hauppage WINTV-GO and everything else seems to work perfectly. Help?
Thanks!

When playing back a file. Hit the blue button, if the green bar has breaks in it, those are the detected commercials logged by conskip. Hit the play button when in the blank area, and it will skip them.

Hi thanks for the reply, but there are no bars on playback. Only the video.

I did this quickie screen shot. See the blank spots on the green bar. Those are morked off in GBPVR by the contents of the comskip .txt file. Also, you can vie them manually, they shoud be simular to this.

FILE PROCESSING COMPLETE
-------------------
20864 26155
44542 49459
52945 59256
the 3 lines are the start and end frame number of the detected commercial.

the last one is exactly 3.5 min typical commercial breaks are 2,2.5,3,3.5.

It depends where abouts you are in the world, and how the television broadcaster inserts your ads. It sounds like comskip is successfully running, but it's just failing to find the adds.

I assume you corrected edited the ini file?

Hi, thanks again.
This is very strange because my playback screen looks nothing like your screen shot.
Where you have a green bar and the control panel, there is nothing like that on my playback.
I have version 0.91.12 of GB-PVR...could I have an old version??
