I haven't pursued because I don't flip, but once in a while I'd like to do last channel to go back/forth. I only watch TV timeshift, and it doesn't happen live. But when I change channel (either up/down or numberic) the playback will stutter randomly. Just little skips, mostly.

Since no one else seems to mention, and ppl have been pointing out even leaner builds, I'm thinking it's something I can fix.

Can anyone think of or know of something? It happens regardless of the decoder, so nix that. It's also not a burning issue, but I'd like to fix so my wife can also use channel button w/o troubleshooting it.

Did you ever find a solution to this? Right now I have it set to automatically go into timeshift mode, but even if I don't, I still get the stuttering when I enter timeshift mode. The audio is fine, but I get about 1 fps video. I have to hit pause once or twice to make it normal.

No, but it seemed better after reinstalling my 150 drivers. I haven't stress-tested it, though.

No one else seemed to get it, so no. Like I said, a complete un/reinstall seemed to help.

It also has to do w/ system speed (I have a 1.8) and how much TV uses in system resources. W/ post-processing running, I am usually around 60%, so changing channels isn't a light task.

If I watched TV live and not always in TS mode, it wouldn't be an issue.

Damn, driver reinstall doesn't work for me. What driver version are you using? Aren't there new drivers that you can get that hauppauge doesn't have on their site?

I use the 20383 prerelease drivers, which gave me the balence of good play, one of my three missing audio channels, and keeping my remote working...but at the cost of so-so color/white balence.

I played w/ the news ones, which you can find here, along w/ other components, and a link to old versions, too: http://www.shspvr.com/

You can also find newsest ones here, w/ discussion: http://www.shspvr.com/smf/index.php?board=51.0

The newest ones were great, but gave me intermittant a/v issues. I finally found (so far...still need a few more days of testing) that if I install my 20383 drivers, and then just run the newest ones as an update, I can get everything to work.

I woulnd't use this path as one to follow. As you can see, it's a bizzare combo of circumstances that work for me, my card, hardware, and setup. But, I think if you do a clean install using the newest CD build at one of those sites, you may see an improvement.

I found after doing a clean install of the one set I knew worked for me, it was able to flip channels in TS finally.

I tried a few drivers but they didn't change it. Found out it was actually the nvidia purevideo decoder. Guess I shoulda tried that first....

I really like the nvidia decoder....Anyone have any idea why the decoder would do this and how I can stop it? Reinstall doesn't work..

Turn off hardware accelleration if you have it on. Also try setting to Film for deinterlacing. The extra resources it uses may be the problem, too, which you won't be able to fix.
