Hi all,

I've been using Mediaportal for the past month.. and while
it looks and works great.. MP is really designed to be a fulltime HTPC. Sadly, I only have one PC and it needs to multi-task Smile

GBPVR seems to be flexible. However, I have a couple of rookie questions that I can't seem to find answers from the old posts:

(1) Some MCE remote's buttons do not seem to work in GBPVR (eg, Info, Recorded TV, Live TV, Guide, DVD menu). The most useful button that is missing support is the Info button - am I missing a setting?

(2) I am trying out the default skins and they all look really blurry on my 1024x760 LCD and PAL TV (compared to MP's skins). In fact the fonts are too big and do not fit inside the buttons. I would have thought that my HTPC configuration is quite common - so are there any alternative skin files to use?

thanks!

GB-PVR is designed for the Hauppauge remote's, so sure - some buttons on MCE remote dont work.

Also, on the MCE2004 remote (maybe 2005 aswell) the LiveTV, Guide etc buttons are the same buttons as red/green/yellow/blue, which the hauppauge remote has as separate buttons. GB-PVR has to treat them as one or the other - I decided to treat them as the color buttons since these are essential for normal operations.

Most of the skins are designed for 720x480, so if you run at other resolutions, it stretches them. The skins use a lot of anti-aliasing which gives them a smooth appearance, which can give this blurry appearance when stretched. That said, whilst its quite noticeable when you sitting right in front of it on your computer, it usually looks pretty good when watching it on a TV across the room.

If the fonts are too big for the buttons, then it sounds like you're configure Windows to use Large Fonts. Set them back to normal fonts and they'll fit fine.
