Ok, here's my deal...I can get my PVR150MCE working fine, but I'm wondering what is the correct way to setup my capture sources.

When I set up the capture source as Internal Tuner, the TV works fine, but I can't get the S-Video to work (I assume the RCA would not work either), even if I manually add channel 101 to the channel list. However, if I setup a second capture source and specify S-Video external tuner, channel 101 works fine (as well as all other normal TV channels), but the TV guide seems to lose everything.

Is there a way to set this card up as a single capture source and have all inputs function correctly, or should I have a separate capture source for each set of inputs? If they must be separate, how do I bypass the EPG thing since it's irrelevant with S-Video and RCA anyway?

I don't really have the option of using wintv to change sources because the drivers (from shspvr) don't appear to be compatible with the hauppauge apps (they suck anyway). I assume there is a 'more correct' way to set this up without messing with hauppauge apps...

Thx!

Andy

I just stumbled across the announcement (from over a week ago Big Grin) about the new version...I noticed EPG can now be 'none', which should solve my problem...Will update tonight when I have a chance to test it out.

This application is not intended to be used for 'taping' things for the S-Video and composite input. You're probably better of using WinTV2000 for these types of task.

The S-Video and Composite support is designed to have EPG lists, and is intended to be used for people that connect their cable box to GB-PVR via this mechanism, and is usually used in conjunction with an IR Blaster for changing channels on the cable box when required.

There is a bug in this, so its not working in the current release.

I hate the hauppauge apps soooo much that I would rather stumble through gbpvr occasionally to record my home video. I don't do that much camcorder capturing anyway so I'll just deal with the inconvenience.

I think the best part is that it does background recording. Why waste resources on displaying stuff you're trying to record? I haven't had a single problem recording anything. The video is always as good as the signal coming in. Never any freezing, jumping, skipping, etc.

This program rocks by the way. Why do you give it away for free? Not that I'm complaining of course, but you could easily charge for it...It's the first freeware I've found that I would actually consider donating to. Nothing else does this much.

Sorry for being so post-happy today...But couldn't I just setup the 2nd tuner source for S-Video with my zap2it account (without updating EPG), then just delete the record from the zap2it_epgsource table?
