Hello all,

I've also been trying to set up xmltv with my gbpvr install. I already had the xmltv import setup with Mediaportal - so was looking to simply config gbpvr to read the same tvguide.xml file.

In MP, i used an 8 hour (for perth gmt+8) offset.. and so i did the same in gbpvr.

However, when i check it in tv guide, the programs are there but the offset is wrong. For the current time, I am getting the old programs (same day, but late by more than 5 hours).

What have i missed or done wrong?

Hai,

You may find my PVR XMLTV tools useful to regenerate XMLTV files.

I had the same problem.. I think that basically, GBPVR and MP uses the timezone settings differently. To add to the confusion, 02grabber (which I'm using to get Swedish listings) also has an offset function.
Anyway, just fiddle around with it until you get the right setting.. that's what I did..! Wink

*sigh*... i've tried fiddling the timezone offset but it doesn't seem to have any effect at all. The tv guide continues to list of older shows for the current time Sad

The steps i took to 'fiddle' the offset each time are:
(1) Exit GBPVR
(2) Empty EPG
(3) Edit XMLTV plugin setting
(4) Modify the offset
(5) Upload EPG
(6) Restart GBPVR to check the TV guide

Here's a sample entry from my tvguide.xml file:

<programme start="200506091930 GMT" stop="200506092030 GMT" channel="seven.ebroadcast.au">
<title lang="en">LAS VEGAS</title>
<desc>BLOOD IS THICKER. Ed is framed for murder when enemies from his past resurface. Danny and Mike secretly intervene to investigate and take matters into their own hands. Sam, Nessa, Mary and Delinda desperately attempt to find tenants for their new joint-purchased home, settling on what they think to be the perfect tenants, only to discover they've misjudged the situation. Starring JOSH DUHAMEL, JAMES CAAN, NIKKI COX, JAMES LESURE, VANESSA MARCIL, MOLLY SIMS and MARSHA THOMASON.: Rating: (CC) PG (V)</desc>
</programme>

help?

If you peek in the config.xml, is the offset actually changed there when you change it in the config app?

The offset is stored in the config.xml?

I checked earlier and could not find it. Which xml tag is the offset stored in? Maybe you could also PM me your config.xml?

cheers,

I could, it's just that I'm rarely at the computer when I'm at home... so I'll most likely forget about it :-( Hopefully someone who is at their computer will tell you what the name of the tag is :-)
