Uh oh.

I've just upgraded from 92.8 to 92.11, and after last night, I had a number of recordings give me 0MB mpg files. I had other recordings that seemed to work OK.

The only error I seem to be getting in my gbpvrrecordingservice.exe.log is:

6/7/2005 6:00:00 PM.923 ERROR [23] Error loading ReoccuringRecordingExtras: The data value could not be converted for reasons other than sign mismatch or data overflow. For example, the data was corrupted in the data store but the row was still retrievable.

But I got this error both on successful recordings as well as 0MB ones.

The data shows up OK in the GB-PVR database, but the file simply isn't there. The log file claims the show is saved as well, but there's 0 bytes of content.

Other info: I had a comskip crash of some sort last night. My hard drive levels are low (perhaps about 2GB free), but not low enough to explain this...

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Email your logs to me at support@devnz.com and I'll take look. Include a link back to this post, and the name and time of one of the recording which did not work.

I'll do this when I get home. I've yet to see a repeat. I'm now suspecting that this was indeed a hard drive fill up.

What exactly is the system behaviour if the hard drive is too full?

Random. Probably a crash of one of the components. Its not very high on my prioity list.

Hmm, got another one of these happening right now. File not growing, liveTV can't be viewed, and neither can pending recording.

Can you zip and email your gbpvr.mdb file to support@devnz.com and I'll take a look. Include a link back to this post.

I rar'd it and sent it before I posted this message, perhaps a half hour ago. I thought I had the problem beat, but it appears to have reoccurred.

One other piece of data. This particular file above has a creation and modification time of 8:00:01PM. Possibly useful for diagnosis.

More data...

Problem also occured with my 9pm PDT recording.

I tried a reboot, and once the GB-PVR process started up, it started recording properly. Previously killing the GB-PVR tasks (including the recoding service) had no effect.

Only other thing I can think of is that I'm using the new RecordingPriorityHigh XML tag. I installed my 92.11 version right over my 92.8 version, which was the first installed on the system.

My apologies if I'm getting spammy. I would like to see this fixed but I'm not going to expect miracles from a one person effort. In any case, thanks for your time!!!!
