I see slow downs when switching channels or starting up "Live TV". It takes about 4-5 seconds to switch channels. I am using the Haupauge 250 on WinXP Home (AMD 2000XP, 512MB RAM). The channel seems to stutter at times as well when viewed in GBPVR, like my machine can't keep up with the signal.

Another issue is that when I hit the esc key when viewing a channel, I get a black screen that says "initializing channel" but it never goes away. Maybe I shouldn't be using esc to get back to the main menu? [Image: smile.gif]

Switching channels seems reasonably fast (and doesn't stutter) using the haupauge winTV2000 program. How can I start to debug this problem?

Thanks!

Turning on the 'Use SBE if available' can speed up the channel change. You may also need to try other MPEG2 decoders.

Dont hit the esc key then. Press 'home' (or menu on the Hauppauge remote) to get back to the main menu. This bug as appeared from nowhere in this release, and will be fixed for the next release. I dont use the esc key myself, so didnt pick it up. I always use the 'home' key to jump back to the main menu.

Things are done quite differently to WinTV2000. GB-PVR must write all video to an MPEG file on the hard drive so that its compatible with the MVP. It also uses one process for recording (GBPVRRecordingService.exe), and one from viewing(GBPVR.exe), which adds a few overheads.

Using the "use SBE..." checkbox did not seem to help, unfortunately.
I am using the decoders from here (or at least, I installed them):

http://haupauge.com/pages....decoder

I am not sure if installing them made them my "system default". What's the best way to get and then try other decoders out?

(I will use the home key to get back to the main screen now, thanks!Wink

Thanks for the help!
