Anyone know what this error means when trying to run dvdauthor:

WARN: Skipping Sector, waiting for first VOBU...

It looks like it keeps repeating this error indefinately... Is something wrong with the mpeg file that i'm trying to burn?

If so, i had used Video ReDO to remove commercials and re-encoded. And the other thing that i do is run the demux utility every night...

here is what i've discovered: When I burn using My DVD of a an MPG file that was created by GBPVR and demuxed but not manipulated in any other way (i.e. Video REDO), it works perfectly fine.

The moment I use video redo, for some reason it doesn't work. But i can burn using Nero. So i'm not sure what and if there is a solution to this

it will be a dvdauthor problem, it can be touchy on what it accepts. its the only free dvd burning (well authoring, burning is done by a different program) i could find that i could control. if you are going to bother cutting the commericals out with videoredo, why not just burn it using a better program like dvdlab? the burning is only suppose to be extremely basic (since you cant directly edit within gbpvr) and just burn a recorded show to dvd, with some basic chapter points (which still arent positioned all that well, gbpvr needs to implement some kind of chapter points for this to be improved).

try searching around dvdauthors forum (im assuming there is a forum for it) to find the answer. also try playing around with the it using commmand prompt, the temp .xml file should still be there (which dvdauthor will use to create the dvd structure, i cant remember what its called, but it should be saved in the temp directory used to burn a dvd).

DVDAuthorGUI and GUIforDVDAuthor are only the gui's for the command line authoring app. It is extremely fussy. Because videoReDo does not adjust GOP correctly, when doing a cut, the authoring app see's the file as invalid.
You can get around this by using something like DVDLab, or demux, then remux in something like tmpgenc.
You may find that Ulead's stuff has a relaxed compliancy, and accept the VideoReDo output, but I haven't tried it.
You can never have enough tuners!

ulead takes a long time--the most successful i've found is nero. VideoREDO is convenient, so i'll keep using it, but i'll have to burn using nero (which is not my favorite)

ive added a batch file to the wiki, so you can burn a dvd with nero. but nero still needs the videots directory structure, so you still need dvdauthor. (unless someone knows how to bypass this step using nerocmd.).

using the nerocmd batch file, saves about 10minutes when burning, since you dont need to use mkisofs to create the iso file first.
