Hi,
I did a search on the IR200L and got kinda lost in all the info. I just got one from MyTVstore.com and installed it. It did not come with any software (do I need any?) just a small sheet regarding win95 install nothing on how to set it up. I have it on com 2 and I set it up in GBPVR config on com 2 and of corse I do not know what plugin to try so I gave them all a go and none of them work. So my firt question is I guess I have to make my own? Can one of you point me in that direction? My second question is even if I used the wrong plugin would that cause GBPVR to crash? When testing the other 3 plugins when I hit live TV it just hangs GBPVR at 100% cpu and I have to kill it. If I go back in the config and use no changer it starts TV ok. I am running ver 92.11 of GBPVR on XP home (sorry I did not mention before the IR blaster is installed in windows I installed it manualy under ir devices) and am trying to change on a Bell Expressvu 6100 HD reciever.

Thanks for your time.

I dont understand the question.

Set up a capture source, which is configured to use the 'IR200L Changer Plugin'. Click 'Settings', and make sure you've got the comport set correctly, then click the new button and follow the prompts.

Possibly.

Hi thanks for walking me through this. I was not getting any prompts before when I was clicking on new. I do get a promt now that is saying to press 1 on my remote but it just hangs there longer then two minutes and if I take a look at the config app it is running at 100%. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the ir winXP driver a few times and tried it on com1 and com2 and tried lowering the baud rate to 9600. I even tried the remote from my vcr just to see if my sat remote was not compatable in some way but it still did not work. I did a sort of test by picking one of the remote.ir files in the drop down window and trying live tv. The TV modual still will not start but if I look at the end of the blaster I can see the led blinking so I assume the blaster is working. Is there anything else you can think of to try?

Thanks again for your time.

You shouldnt install any driver. The software tries to directly access the hardware.

I think the driver is only required if you intend to use the IR200L as an IRDA device.

Thank you so much for your time. You have solved part of my problem by removing the XP driver I am now able to set a code from my vcr remote. Not my sat remote yet. I looked in some other forums for the sat reciever I have and even though the manual for my reviever says it has a built in IR blaster\reciever it would seem that it has a UHF reciever and that my sat remote is sending a UHV signal when set in sat mode and IR when useing it for a vcr\tv\5.1 reciever. So it looks like I will have to call bell expressvu support to conferm this. In the meen time I am going to see if I can find a code to program my sony 5.1 reciever remote to control my expressvu box and then use the sony remote to set the code for the IR blaster as the sony remote will be sending a IR signal. Sorry for waisting your time as I knew the remote was useing UHF as well as IR but I assumed it was send an IR signal while in sat mode not just UHF..

Again thank you for your time and providing such a great piece of software and support.
