I am still a newbie when it comes to understanding this program and how it works but hats off to all involved, I really like it.
That said, I can't get my config utility to accept my password for web access. When I make the change and close the utility it reverts to the previous one when I reopen it. Other changes seem to stick with no problem.
Of course what that means is I can never get past the login screen. Unfortunately, I don't even know what the current password is as I don't recall putting one in. Perhaps there's a default password that I need to use the first time before I can change it.
I've downloaded and installed the enhanced version for web access and have done everything I can think off short of reinstalling the entire program. I have read many posts in the forums and most of the wiki and I haven't found the answer yet.
Is this a program issue, a Microsoft setting or the userSmile? Can I reset this somewhere inside the GBPVR folders? I'm open to any suggestions.
(I'm using Windows 2000 SP 4, Athlon 2100+, Hauppauge 150 PVR, Firefox, Zone Alarm and an SMC Barricade router if that helps.)
Thanks in advance!

How do you know its not taking it? It always shows ******** regardless of what the password is.

The default password is 'password' if you want to try it.

Now I have just experienced first-hand the best tech support response for a pvr program of any kind! Thanks for the speedy reply.
Sorry, I didn't realize that the password field has a fixed length of asterisks.
I can't test the generic password at work as I seem to be blocked by our network. I'll try it at home and see what happens.
I'll also recheck my browser and LAN settings and report back with what happens.
The only reason I thought it wasn't sticking to begin with was that it always told me I had an incorrect username or password at the login screen whether I used local host or the web.
Thanks again for your help!

Yeah, it may be some other reason that is stopping the login from working. Whilst I wrote the original incarnation of the web access, its been changed by quite a few people since then, including the way it logs in, so I'm not really familiar with the issues you may be encountering. All I can really suggest is use the search button - hopefully it'll turn up the answer you need.

One thing though, make sure javascript is enabled on your browser.

Still not working. Javascript is working. Tried the default password, re-checked port access, cleaned out browser cache in IE and Firefox etc. If anyone has any ideas to try I'm game. Thanks for the help thus far!
