Hi I'm using a VIA EPIA SP13000 motherboard, and I'm haven problems with playing DVD's.

When I try to play a dvd from PowerDVD, it syas that it can't play the DVD because of the MACROVISION protection, when my TV-out is enabled....

(I'm using my TV as the only monitor, as I'm using it as a HTPC)

When I use VLC mediaplayer it all works fine....

To the big problems:

I would like to play DVD's from GBPVR! But nomatter wether I select PowerDVD or System default decoder for DVD playback, it just gives me a black screen when I hit the DVD button in GBPVR!

What could be the problem?

and is there anyway I can get PowerDVD to work with my TV-out?

Sorry, I dont have an answer to your question, but I just thought I'd mention that 'system default' is also likely to be PowerDVD.

It may be worth trying WinDVD or another DVD player application.

i used to get this problem with my geforce 3 ti200 video card - even when i wasn't using the tv out feature. i was able to work around it by using the program dvd idle which can be found here: http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=DVD_Region-Free

this might not even work with gbpvr but it is worth a try. i believe a trial is available to use.

I solved the problem by installing anyDVD by slysoft.
this removes the macrovision protection Smile

Yes.. some programs are aware when you try to use the PC TV-Out for DVD playback, so they use Macrovision. Wouldn't want someone to get the bright idea of taping the DVD through the PC's TV-Out, would we ;-)
