Hi,

I have been unable to get my Twinhan Alpha USB DVB-T to work with GBPVR.
Running XP Home.
Drivers are 1.0.3.0 WHQL certified (off DigitalRize).
In the config, under Capture Sources:
BDA Recording Plugin--> Twinhan DVB-T
EPG Source --> Bleb (UK) , and I just selected BBC ONE to test whether that works.
Channel Changer --> None Required

When I update the EPG and click 'Map Digital Channels', I get the error
"GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA Device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly, and not already in use (reason: failed to locate configured BDA capture device)"
Then I get a C++ Debug Library Error
Expression: p!=0

I have tried using the offical drivers off the Twinhan website, and WDM drivers (though I know they won't work).

Any advice?

Does that device have BDA drivers? I dont think it does. Without BDA drivers, it will not work with GB-PVR.

Yes it does have BDA Drivers. It shares them with the Twinhan MagicBox Pro.
They are on the Twinhan Drivers page (version 1.0.0.5)
and also on DigitalRise under Download Center-->MCE?BDA Driver-->USB 2.0 Boxes (Version 1.0.3.0 WHQL Certified).

The version on the Twinhan Download Drivers page also comes with MCE2005 specific BDA Drivers and a general 'NonMCE' BDA Driver.

So if Twinhan Magicbox Pro is supported (is it?) then this should be too right?

You may need to add a section to the bda.ini file to get your device working with GB-PVR. If you search for bda.ini you'll find some descriptions of what needs to be done. Its fairly straight forward, and just a matter of using GraphEdit finding the appropriate device names.

I've not heard of any one trying a Magicbox Pro, so that argument doesnt really help you... The only devices I know work are the standard DVB-T and DVB-S PCI cards.

OK, I Tried editing bda.ini.
I made a copy of Twinhan DVB-T and edited that.
However, in GraphEdit, under BDA receiver Component, there is only 'Twinhan USB2 DVB-T receiver'.
Under BDA Source Filters there is also only 'Twinhan USB2 DVB-T receiver'.
I am unable to find a separate Tuner/Filter Entry.
Also, the pins on both of them are 'Antenna In Pin' and 'MPEG2 Transport'.

So I added this into bda.ini, from the info above:

[Twinhan Alpha USB DVB-T]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=Twinhan USB2 DVB-T receiver
FILTER_CAPTURE=Twinhan USB2 DVB-T receiver
PIN_TUNER_IN=Antenna In Pin
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=Antenna In Pin
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

It looks wrong to me anyway, but I tried it to no avail.
What more information can I get about the BDA Drivers of the card in order to add a correct entry into the ini file?

Under Device Manager, there is only one entry: 'Twinhan USB2 DVB-T BDA Adapter'.
I tried that name also.....didn't work.
There is no separate Capture Driver to install.

Any suggestions, as I've read through other threads and they all seem to suggest that this is the only thing you need to change in order to add a new card.
Also, I'm using Intervideo Video/Audio Decoders if that helps...

I run Twinham DTV DVB-T and have exacly the same problem.

I can get MyTheatre to work though and it is also using the BDA drivers so the drivers should be ok.

Ideas?

It might be more like the [Hauppauge Nova-T USB2] entry, which only uses a receiver, not a separate capture/tuner. Try starting with that one.

This implies this device is quite different to the other Twinhan PCI devices.

Unless you're also running a USB device, I doubt you have the same problem.

Give a good description of your problem, and I'll see if I can diagnose further. you do have the TwinHan BDA v1.2.1.9 drivers installed right?

Success! I tried the Nova-T USB2 Settings and it worked. All channels are scanned and I can map them to the EPG.
Heres the entry:

[Twinhan Alpha USB DVB-T]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER=Twinhan USB2 DVB-T receiver
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Antenna In Pin
PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

Now that I have it running, I have one other small problem. The video is very jumpy. I'm using all Intervideo Decoders, I'll try using others and experimenting.
Also, what does putting other values into RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE do? Or is it only 0 and 1?

Thanks a lot sub!

*Edit* Nevermind, I forgot to change the BDA Multiplexer to Intervideo too, so that fixed the jumpiness. Also I used Overlay Manager instead of VMR9. Hope this helps someone!
