Hi all,

I have been unable to capture two shows simultaneously with my Hauppauge 500mce (WinXP SP1, GBPVR 0.91.12) and am hoping someone can help me out.

Can someone clue me in as to what the correct configuration should be for a 500mce?

I have tried setting up "both" tuners in config > capture_sources as:
1) Both boards as "PVR500" (no mce option) and being capture devices 1 & 2
2) Both boards as "PVR500" and both boards being capture device 1
3) Both boards as "PVR150mce" and being devices 1 & 2

And I'm at a loss, because in *each* and *every* scenario above I get one mpeg that's fine (from capture source #2), and one that's zero bytes (source #1).

Is there a way in "Live TV" to "switch" to a specific capture device?

Thanks for any and all help!

Sincerely - Cedar

Can you possible run the attached utility twice, once for each card, and post the resulting log files? Select device instance '1' for the first card, '2' for the second card. The log will be called AutoDetectEncoder.exe-native.log.

This will produce some diagnostic info that should tell me what is happening.

Thank you for your quick response.

I hope that I haven't complicated the issue, but I added a Hauppauge 150 to the machine to try to troubleshoot the issue.

GB-PVR now records two out of three programs correctly at once: one from the 150’s tuner, and one from the first tuner of the 500. The "second" of the 500mce's tuners continues to produce a zero byte file.

I'm quite convinced that it's a configuration error on my part, but can't figure out what.

Please let me know if you would like me to remove the 150 for further troubleshooting.

I went ahead and ran the utility you provided three times, once for each tuner, and have attached the results.

For what it's worth, I've also tried a fresh of XP, and have ensured that the Hauppauge drives are the latest available on their website (2.0.30.23074).

Thank you for your help!

So I moved the Hauppauge 500mce to another computer to test it, but even with a "first time" install of GB-PVR I get good captures from tuner #1, and only zero byte files from tuner #2.

So I've tried setting the second tuner as "PVR500 with FM Tuner", PVR500, and even PVR150... but still only zero byte files. What should the second tuner be set as?

Any suggestions for getting the second tuner to work?

Thanks.

Can you run the AutoDetectEncoder util again and post the logs?

Can you repeat the test for device instance 1?

Actually I now get a capture from tuner #1, and not even a file for tuner #2.

Yes I know, but I'm just fixing a bug related to this and I need to see the output from both.
