I have sent an e-mail to hauppauge, but maybe someone here can help me with this - I bought a PVR-150 today, which I was going to use for free-to-air channel recording, while my existing 250 was dedicated to the cable line-in.
Unfortunately, I can't seem to tune any channels in with the 150. After removing the 250, and doing complete uninstalls and reinstalls, I suspect the problem lies with the hauppauge "tuner format" setting - in the WinTV ap, I can't tune in any channels either, as it steadfastly maintains that the format is "MN", with no options for argument.
As I specifically bought the PVR150 in NZ at double the US price in order to have the PAL abilities, this seems a trifle unfair. Checking both the physical label on the card and using prodinfo confirms that the card does in fact have "Tuner Formats: (B/G/I/D/K/L/L')".
I tried the shspvr multi-format registry hack, but all that does is let me change the video to PAL B (admittedly an improvement, as while it was set to M or N, the composite line-in didn't work properly either, but now does).
So - anyone know how to convince the hauppauge registry settings that the card is in fact PAL-B capable? (And yes - I have completely uninstalled several times, using hcwclear.exe each time, and in fact manually going through the registry and deleting all hcw and hauppauge references last time, to no effect, on both the CD-drivers and the latest web ones).
cheers,
tieke
