I bought a Compro Videomate T200 (DVB-T card) with the aim of plonking it in my epia M10000 setup that sits under the TV to reduce the amount of cables and freeview decoders I have lying around. It turns out the M10000 just doesn't have enough grunt to power the Compro card, it constantly pauses every second or two..

So.. I've decided to put the Hauppage 250 back in this machine and hook up the external freeview box again, which seems to work fine.. However, now I'm stuck with a redundant DVB-T card..

I've setup the compro card in my desktop machine upstairs and it works away quite happily so I've thought I could install GBPVR on this machine too and control the epg over the network, which made me think - is there any way of telling this second gbpvr machine to work from the same epg as my downstairs machine?

Any ideas would be appreciated Smile

Sorry, I'm probably not going to do this.

I have to be realistic about how much my time costs. Your typical small donation isnt worth the hours of development and testing time I'd need to comit to making these sorts of changes.

Why do you care to use the same EPG? The EPG is just the guide information. Cant you just download it from your upstairs machine as well?

Is your real goal to share recordings between your upstairs and downstairs gbpvr machines?

This is a problem that we can help you solve. If that is your goal.

That's it Jorm...

I would like to browse through the epg on my machine downstairs and have the upstairs machine do the recording, leaving the downstairs tuner free for channel browsing.

Today using plugins you can recording on one and view the other machines recordings on another gbpvr. That is available. However scheduling it on the remote one is currently not supported.

It can be done if someone wanted to write a tool for you and a plugin.

Have you considered using the web interface?

I'm currently using the web interface to schedule recordings from my laptop downstairs which seems to work really well.

What I was meaning is, can I use the second machine like a second recording device? eg. in a similar way to having two pvr cards in my downstairs machine but one is actually in another pc.

I think sage can do it, but they don't support my compro and I'm keen to stay with GBPVR anyways.. But that's where I got my idea from..

Sub, I understand what you mean about development time etc..

But you just said that you did not want to use the second PVR card for recording...

Perhaps you want to put both pvr card in the PC upstairs and use a MVP downstairs?
