Hi, I've read through most of the threads on this forum and can't see anything exactly the same as i'm experiencing.

I have a Hauppauge WinTV NOVA-T PCI (909) installed in my PC which works fine. I then downloaded ShowShifter to try that out and that worked ok.. then I found GBPVR. Wow I thought... sounds great.

So I installed GBPVR & setup the software by following the Wiki guide. So far so good.

When configuring the Capture Source, I've set the recording source to BDA Recording Plugin and set the device type to Hauppauge Nova-T (909). The EPG source is set to Bleb (UK) and I've selected several channels.

I then hit Update EPG button to download the program guide... so far so good.

Once it's downloaded I close and reopen the Config tool and see that the channels in the EPG section are listed correctly, but the Enabled/Disabled checkbox is unchecked and there's nothing in the Tuning Request column. So, I then hit the Map digital channels to EPG channels button ... and this is where I get a problem. The config program appears to hang with just the hourglass being displayed on the screen. TaskMgr also shows the software as hanging... but to be sure it wasn't just busy, I actually left it like this overnight. However, on checking it in the morning it was still just showing the hour glass and hadn't got any further.

As I mentioned, the WinTV software works fine, the ShowShifter s/w works ok too, but for some reason I can't get past the EPG mapping. Any ideas?

Env: Intel Cel 1.8Ghz, 256MB RAM, 18GB available disk space, Win XPh SP2

Thanks,
herbs

I prefer Alan birtles Xmltv program it has more channels grab it from http://www.birtles.org.uk/xmltv , anyway if you happen to be using the crystal palace transmitter I can pm you my settings if it helps. Are you sure you are using the 909 version of the card although on the box it might state 909 but on the actual tuner on the card it might state 90002. Check that it is absolutely the 909.

Post your config.exe-native.log file and I'll take a look.

ok, I took the card out of the PC and checked and it is a 90002 model (thanks for pointing that out). Anyway, I've now changed the capture settings to use that model...but it still does exactly the same and hangs when I map the digital channels.

Here's the contents of the config.exe-native.log file...

21:37:28.109 INFO Log started
21:37:28.109 VERBOSE getSetting(OSDTransparency)
21:37:54.890 VERBOSE FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
21:37:54.937 VERBOSE FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: InterVideo Multiplexer
21:37:58.796 INFO BDARecorder:::StartRecording(Hauppauge Nova-T (90002), 1, c:\test.mpg, T:...)

I noticed this didn't show up a Muxer, but the BDA Mux Checker reports this...

GB-PVR has detected the following multiplex filters on your machine:

Found: ShowShifter MPEG PS Writer
FILE: C:\Program Files\Home Media Networks Limited\ShowShifter\MpegWriter.ax
VERSION: 3.12.0.2945

...presumably installed by the ShowShifter trial I downloaded.

Yeah, another person had this a few days ago, but I'm not sure why. I've put a fix for the next build. Notice the bit I've highlighted at the end of the line. Most users get frequency information etc in its place.

Just a thought. Is there a config or ini file I could manually edit to insert the correct channel info, frequency etc etc to force GBPVR to run. I'm guessing that the Map digital channels to EPG channels does some sort of lookup and associates the channels on my epg with the channels detected. If it helps, our local transmitter is Ridge Hill (Midlands).

If it can be done, let me know what to do and I can try it out.

Thanks.

Its not really the sort of thing you can easily do manually. If you're lucky some ridge hill user may provide you their gbpvr.mdb file.

Ok, Hi, any Ridge Hill transmitter users out there who'd like to share their gbpvr.mdb file with me?????

I looked into Hauppauge Win2000 software and can see a whole list of channels, frequencies, ONID's TSID's and SID's - could I use this to populate the gbpvr file?
