Hi,

Wondering if anyone knows a UK or USA online site that could ship a MediaMVP unit to Australia?

(I ask as the Australian price seems to be around the equivalent of US$219, ie A$285 - it seems they are much cheaper than this in US/UK - I assume they would be the same unit & be compatible in Australia [240V / PAL] )

Thanks

The U.S. unit uses 120 Volts and NTSC. That is because we are backwards.

Besides that Radio Shack has them for $40 which is a lot cheaper than in AU.

Perhaps someone from UK? They have pal format and 240 volts.

You could always order from New Zealand Smile

I just did a quick search at http://www.pricespy.co.nz, and found a site that sells it for approx $203 AUD (GST Exclusive, courier charges extra):

Incidentally, this is my first post. Just got my PVR500 and GB-PVR installed last night, and loving the results! I'm thinking of getting a MVP for now, or building a HTPC for my front-end, or waiting for a Play Station 3, or or or (not really sure what, actually). For now, I'm just happy to be recording ...

I'm using a USA model, works fine for PAL here in New Zealand. I cant remember whether I needed to replace the power brick or whether it was a 110/220V one just requiring travel adapter.

That seems pretty steep. We have Pal I here in Hong Kong (same as UK), 240V. An MPV is $990 (when I bought about a month ago. Might be an option, as Voltage and PAL I (plus others) but online sites are hard to come by (and even more difficult to understand)

http://www.dvclub.com.hk/product_details...=1&pID=118

990.00 HKD Hong Kong Dollars = 166.923 AUD Australian Dollars
990.00 HKD Hong Kong Dollars = 127.589 USD United States Dollars

As a comparison the PVR-150MCE is HK$888. Hopefully these prices will come down quickly as they always do in HK, I can't believe the US MPV purchasers are getting them for US$40!

Cheers

k.

I got mine from outpost.com but they don't seem to have them any more. The power brick is universal (turns 110-250V and 50/60Hz into DC) and you will just need a travel adapter to use any imported ones Australia. I used a travel adapter when I first got mine but I received one of the dreaded D3s and when Hauppauge replaced it they gave me a power adapter with Aussie pins.

I got a D3 from outpost.com as well. Mine still seems to be working, but from what I read I must be very lucky...

Go to the Web Store at the http://www.hauppauge.com site - they ship internationally (there is a drop-down box to select country on the payment page). I bought my PVR-500 from there - UK price at the time was £280 - £300, I paid the US$199 plus shipping and import duty from Hauppauge Europe (based in Eire) and total cost was £139. The whole thing took two weeks but from a price point of view it was worth it. Go through the pages - you don't have to commit to buy until the last step and it'll tell you what the cost will be.

Cheers,
Brian
