I'm trying to use the new automatic transcoding feature to convert to 512 k/second WMV. I can see that there is a GBPVRConvert process running, but it's taking up 0-1% CPU time. The log file appears to show it starting up, but there's nothing after a line about connecting to the acces database. Attached is the log file. It seems as if it's sitting there waiting for something.
It also looks like it had the log file open for writing - I had to make a copy of it before it would let me rename it to .txt (as the forum will not let me upload .log files)

That log looks ok to me. Does a WMV file get created, and is it growing?

Nothing gets created. (I expect the WMV to be in the same place as the mpg file). It looks as if the conversion process is waiting on something else before it starts.

You could try manually running it to see if it makes any difference.

GBPVRConvert.exe "E:\Recording\Comic Remix\Comic Remix_20050921_11301200.mpg" "E:\Recording\Comic Remix\Comic Remix_20050921_11301200.wmv" WMV 1676

Sub,
That didn't work either - it ran for a few seconds and quit. Here's the log (2 runs, -1 with "512" after "WMV", the other one just ending at WMV). Interestingly, when I run it from the command line in the GBPVR directory, it finds the "GB-PVR Parser" filter, but when run from GBPVR it does not. Both methods of invocation do return the messages about ConnectPins failing.

Maybe try going back to running it from the service, and try changing your preferred MPEG2 decoder.

Can you transcode a recording from DVR-MS to WMV that you have already? I read in here that it is possible, but I do not see how to do it.

Thanks.

There is no currently no functionality built into GB-PVR to do it automatically for an existing file, but you could manually run "GBPVRConvert source.dvr-ms dest.wmv WMV"

What the correct type for xvid? I tried XVID, XviD, and xvid.
