Hi

Is there a SIMPLE step by step guide to getting GBPVR working for the Nova t card?

I am having problems setting GBPVR up with my new Nova-t card. I started out installing the Hauppauge drivers that came with with it. The Hauppauge software seems OK, and using there software I can watch TV (no ITV but that appears to be an arieal issue).

So I then install GBPVR - it installs fine, and I start trying to set it up - all looking OK I add it as a BDA thing, and theres a list which includes my card - all looking good.

Then it starts compalining about missing decodes - MUX thing, so I find some article and down load a copy of MpgMux.ax (included with AutoDVRconvert v1.3). Thats sloved that problem, so Im feeling pretty happy again.

I go back in and try to configure GBPVR again and it lets me get as far as the 'Map digital channels to EPG channels', at this point it says there are no BDA drivers, and promptly crashes.

So now I do a load of reading about BDA drivers and there seems to be some drivers I should have installed (http://www.technotrend.com/english/downl...load.html). But when I run them it says it carn't see the device. Ive tried uninstalling and re-insatlling and all sorts, and I can't get pas this bit.

So I ask again

Is there a SIMPLE step by step guide to getting GBPVR working for the Nova t card?

Any help would be greatfuly recieved.

Thanks Simon

All Nova-t cards are model #909. Ones made/sold pre-September (ish) 2004 used a TechnoTrend chipset and you need the BDA drivers you mentioned for that type of card as the standard Hauppauge ones aren't BDA.

Cards made/sold after that date are labelled 90002 and use a Conexant chipset and the native drivers are BDA compliant. If you have this sort of card there is a separate option when setting up the capture source (it mentions 90002) - check your card to see if that's what it says on the tuner label. Chances are you wouldn't want to use the supplied drivers though (I bought one recently which still had the buggy v1.3 version on CD). Download the v2.1 drivers from the Hauppauge support pages.

I have the Nova-t (Pre-september) Techno trends chipset.

To get GB-PVR to work for me I had to download the technotrends bda driver pack from:
http://www.technotrend.com/english/downl...nload.html

Also I had to download the MUX described here from the following link and then run the Register Filter.bat in the zip file.

I have put the zips on my webspace:
http://files.kaneaston.co.uk/gbpvr/MPGMux.zip
http://files.kaneaston.co.uk/gbpvr/bda_drv_pack.zip

All working so far. Completed channel scan, etc.
