In the last day or so, I've had TV stop right after switching to the next program, and I get an "Error playing back file" error.

Here's the error from the GB log:

Quote:9/28/2005 1:00:04 AM.250 ERROR [2] Error: msg=0x8001 hwnd=0xe0110 wparam=0x0 lparam=0x0 result=0x0 : System.Exception: Failure playing back file

at xae10db17d26ba033.xbe83d16b02243330.playbackEnded()
at xae10db17d26ba033.xbe83d16b02243330.OnGraphNotify()
at xae10db17d26ba033.xbb1566157f5f8b1f.WndProc(Message& x5f8f2c40c000ab2c)

Now this is from native log. This is the interesting part: see the file it says it started to play? That was a show I stopped watching right when it started like an hour earlier (as you can see from the time code in the file name). The one at the end was the actual proceeding show to the one I was already watching. Somehow, it had it stuck in the system.

Quote:01:00:03.609 INFO DirectShowPlayerBase::playVideoFile(D:\captv_studio\Live\Crossing Jordan_1_20050927_23000000.mpg)

01:00:04.125 VERBOSE video decoder filter: InterVideo NonCSS Video Decoder for Hauppauge
01:00:04.140 VERBOSE getSetting(ListGraphFilters)
01:00:04.140 VERBOSE Graph contains the following filters:

01:00:13.156 INFO DirectShowPlayerBase::playVideoFile(D:\captv_studio\Live\Full Metal Alchemist_1_20050928_01000130-2.mpg)

Now here's what happened at the time when that file should have played:

Quote:22:42:10.359 VERBOSE waited: 1 (1127875330 - 1127875329) filesize: 192448
22:42:10.468 VERBOSE waited: 1 (1127875330 - 1127875329) filesize: 276416
22:42:10.468 VERBOSE Creating new graph
22:42:10.468 VERBOSE getSetting(PreferredAudioRenderer)
22:42:10.500 VERBOSE getSetting(PreferredAudioDecoder)

Right where it should have been, it is missing altogether.

I may try the newest version (I am one behind to the one put out the other day), but I wasn't sure if this was something it had anything to do w/.

Nope...new version didn't help. Help me....well, help me

This just happened. Same deal, where it's trying to play a show I stopped watching at the beginning as the next show after the one I'm watching:

Just to order what is happening:

1) I start watching TV
2) W/o changing the channel, the next show starts
3) Not wanting to watch the next show, I go back to the guide and choose another
4) I watch the next show to the end
5) When it should change over to the next show, it goes to the "Error playing back file" message.

I can go back in and start watching fine. In the log, it shows it trying to play the show in step that I stopped at step 3

Ok....I don't know if this helps....

I was wondering if maybe the DB had gotten messed up somehow, so I was repairing them in Access. Is there a reason the zaptv.mdb file would be locked as in use, so it cannot be open, copied, etc?

I closed everything and ended almost every process (short of those needed to keep running), and it keeps me locked out. I went a step further and stopped GB from starting at all at boot (service, program, tray, etc) and it is still locked out or in use by jet DB.

Going to try to get to it w/ a safe boot and repair it.

I think I know what is causing your problem, so I'm about to have a go at a fix.

For this step, did you exit live tv and go to the tv guide screen, or just bring up the live guide (or mini guide) over the video?

In caase it matters, this is all timeshift.

I exited all the way to the guide, and started a new show. I didn't use the miniguide.

Here's a twist. It just happened again, but this time I just started watching the end of a show. I had been watching earlier, and had paused, so it overlapped in the next show (but I didn't start watching the new show/file...I stopped before it ended).

More or less, the same thing, but w/ almost an entire hour unwatched. But, here's the odd part:

This time it picked a show from 7hrs earlier, and not one that followed a show I was watching (or had watched). This time it just seemed to pick one at random, except that it was on the same channel:

Quote:19:00:30.625 INFO DirectShowPlayerBase::playVideoFile(D:\captv_studio\Live\Murder in the First_1_20051001_11001330.mpg)
19:00:31.031 VERBOSE Stopping previous graph
19:00:31.062 VERBOSE Creating new graph
19:00:31.062 VERBOSE getSetting(PreferredAudioRenderer)
19:00:31.109 VERBOSE getFileFPS() unable to open file, defaulting to 30fps
19:00:31.109 VERBOSE getSetting(PreferredAudioDecoder)
19:00:31.125 VERBOSE audio decoder filter: InterVideo NonCSS Audio Decoder for Hauppauge
19:00:31.125 VERBOSE getSetting(PreferredDecoder)
19:00:31.125 VERBOSE video decoder filter: InterVideo NonCSS Video Decoder for Hauppauge
19:00:31.140 VERBOSE getSetting(ListGraphFilters)
19:00:31.140 VERBOSE Graph contains the following filters:
19:00:31.140 VERBOSE - InterVideo NonCSS Video Decoder for Hauppauge
19:00:31.140 VERBOSE - InterVideo NonCSS Audio Decoder for Hauppauge
19:00:31.140 VERBOSE - Video Renderer
19:00:31.140 VERBOSE getSetting(SaveGraphFiles)

I know you're already working on this, but I wanted to give you as much info as possible, or any odd variants, in case it helped.

This time the events were:
1) I start watching TV
2) I stop watching into the time of the next show, but don't go as far as watching it (I has a few min of pause left beofre the file swtich, but was 10min into the next show time-wise).
2) I exit to main menu
3) Just under and hour later, I start wartching same channel
4) I watch the show on to the end
5) When it should change over to the next show, it goes to the "Error playing back file" message.
