Does anyone use there FM radio on there PVR150MCE with any real success? It seems that when I have the included antenna plugged in it knocks out 5-6 stations because of interference it seems to be causing.

Any ideas on stopping that from occuring, or do I just kind of forget about it? (the radio)Smile

I have mine hooked up to cable...
I guess if you're using terrestrial TV, you could try moving the antenna around, until the interference disappears.
What's your TV source?

Poorly shielded cable can pick up interference from any other electrical source. Even a passive antenna has a magnetic field associated with it.

If you are using cable for TV, why are you not using cable for FM?
Most providers give a better lineup (and far better quality) on cable than an antenna will get you.

Uh....cable for FM? Wait, that's POSSIBLE? (And...why would I want to pay for that? Smile I would just want local FM stations)

Most cable TV providers also throw in FM radio, no charge.
Grab a splitter, and patch cord, and hook up your cable to the FM input.
Try a scan for channels.
You should get at least one or two.
Check the website of your cable TV provider (or phone support) and ask them about FM radio.
I have yet to see a cable provider charge for FM.
The bonus is, you can usually get local channels, plus some good ones from nearby major cities. If you live in the "country" like I do, and the local stations suck, it's nice to get great ones from elsewhere.

I have the Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2 and get interference on cable channels 3 and 4 here in the USA when I have an antenna connected. Also, not all cable systems put FM radio on their network. Time Warner here in SC used to do it but removed it several years ago. My guess is poor noise isolation circuitry in the PVR device.
