Remote to turn off monitor?

I like to keep my computer running GBPVR running all the time. I already have the remote set up to turn on GBPVR, now if anyone knows how, to turn off the monitor using the remote?

Or if you know a key command that could do it, i couldt just write that in the remote.ini?

Let me know if you guys have any ideas. If this has alreayd been posted, ive tired searching please give me a link.

I can't find anything that does this (that doesn't mean it doesn't exist, though...) As a workaround you can set your power management to shut off your monitor after a very short time of inactivity, I guess.

K i have figured out how to do it. You need a sperate program to run the command to turn off the monitor. I found one on the internet here the link. I scanned it with viruses with trend micro and none were found.

thats the link to the little proggie. Just use that and set your button to that exe and it will shut off the monitor. Im working on it right now and will post my results


Ok some more help was just experimenting with it, when im not in GB i cant get the computer to turn off the monitor, from the [default] section 9={run(C:\monoff.exe)}, but what can i do so one button throught gb will turn off the monitor?

I'm also currently trying to get this to work. Has anyone been able to correctly modify their irremote file to turn off your monitor when the green power button (or any button) is pushed?

from my understanding - you need to make sure the command you want to run is in the gbpvr section for it to work in gbpvr and in default for it too work in windows

You can setup a custom button to run this command "nircmd.exe monitor off" via batch file. I am not sure if that is what you are looking for.
