I just updated to .94.13 from .94.12 when I did this i noticed I lost all my MVP MAC settings. (X & Y Offset, Height, & Width) Plus the secound MAC address add we completly wiped out. It was easy to fix since I backed up all my files before the upgrade. I was just wondering if this is normal.

Unfortunately this is normal. It'll loose the MVP specific settings each release.

Yeah, its pretty easy. Just edit config.xml with notepad, and restore you previous <MVPWidith>, <height>, <OffsetX>, <OffsetY> settings.

Are there any plans to preserve these 'personal' settings from being overwritten during updates?

Yeah, I probably will add this at some stage.

During an upgrade the old config file is renamed and a new config.xml is created. It then goes through all the settings in the new file and pulls your original value across from your old config file. This proceedure generally works well, but obviously doesnt pickup additional settings you've added.

Is there a plan on solving this? I know not a top priority.
If not I could modify MVP Screen Position to put a copy under
<PluginSettings>
and then have an option to restore them.

That's kind of weird -- I didn't lose my personal MVP settings when I upgraded. Does it matter if you use the MVPScreen plugin or not? I used the plugin, and didn't lose the settings. Just luck?
Chris
GBPVR system info intentionally left blank because I'm personally
insulted that you can't remember it from previous signatures.

I wrote the plug in and it did not help me. Smile
I never noticed this problem untill I added another MVP.
Does it have something to due with Adding more MAC addresses?

Ron22,

That would be a cool option to be able to restore them. It would also relieve Sub from spending time on it when other things are a priority.

Its only if you create MAC address specific MVP settings. If you only modify the global <MVPWidth> etc, then it'll be retain.
