X-Newa is unable to connect to the server with Nextpvr in the morning. The solution is to walk to the server and stop the NPVR Recording service and kill the ndigitalhost.exe process. It will then work fine for 24 hrs and fail again the next morning.
Its something I've been meaning to fix for a while but haven't yet found a solution and wondered if you had any suggestions on what I could try other than walking to the server or how to better diagnose the issue??
Worst case scenario is I could run a batch file on server wake to kill the process and service.... but is there a better way??

REM Restart recording service
taskkill /IM ndigitalhost.exe /F
taskkill /IM ndigitalhost.exe /F
NET STOP "NPVR Recording Service"
NET START "NPVR Recording Service"

My TV tuner (WinTV-HVR-2255) gets fine reception with the WinTV app from Hauppauge, but the NPVR has to buffer (alot) and sometimes locks up or freezes and continues.
Whats up with that... Only happens on UHF channels.
Running NPVR 3.5.7 and Kodi NPVR client 1.10.8 with Kodi 15.1
I haven't attached the log files as I believe this is more of a question on how to handle a problem I currently have.
My live tv buffer file will keep growing if the Kodi clients connection is abruptly disconnected. So the power went off the other day and I have the NPVR server on a battery backup but the Kodi Clients are not on battery backup. I noticed the Live TV Buffer directory was still growing with no clients connected and streaming. How do I get around this, say if I'm not home for a week and the power goes down and comes back I would come home to a full HDD.
Is there a way to have like a keep-alive check or something and stop server from buffering to directory when clients are actually not connected?
We now have a lineup for Astra 19.2E which is fairly complete, and as accurate as I can make it without actually being able to pick up Astra 19.2E. Some channels have multiple potential mappings on our side; there are a few different Al Jazeera English transmissions as just one example, and I can't tell which one to use so I just selected one. For some channels the provider doesn't have an agreement with our upstream, so we don't have schedule information for them.
If you're able to receive Astra 19.2E and aren't in Germany then please send me your three-character country code and I will add it as an option; this also means that if we don't have lineups in your country currently then you may still use the Astra lineup and send me a PM for a 90-day trial code.
If you have a different satellite then I would need dump, which you can mail to me at rkulagow@gmail.com :
Go to the Settings screen, then can select a device, then click 'Export Channels' button at the bottom of the screen.
At which point I can create a lineup for that satellite; depending on the number of stations that I need to map it can take a day or so.
I'm new to this software, but i'm loving it so far. My primary use for it is converting an old TV tuner I found into a capture card for playstation 2 - primary display on my telly, and a composite out going from the telly to the cap card for streaming/skype friends/etc. Works beautifully!
However.
I'm trying to keep disk usage down, even temporary disk usage. I know NextPVR splits buffer recordings, but it just keeps making more the longer I play on my Playstation, and for my peace of mind I'd love to know if I can set this component-in up so that it doesn't use a buffer at all?
That is to say, I don't want NextPVR dumping my gameplay into a massive temporary recording - I just want it to display my composite in, no massive buffer for rewinding etc.
Alternative solutions that keep disk usage down, to prolong the life of my hard drive, are very very welcome.
Hi I have musicbox on my server and it works fine but I've now addd it to my client and pointed it to the NAS and it won't scan - it flashes up the scanning progress box which vanishes immediately.
Any ideas scan from a client fails? or should I point it to the musicbox database that is on the server?
I have trouble configuring the devices in settings of NPVR. It recognizes my tuner card ATI DBA digital (QAM) or Analog Tuner, but when I scan the channels, it goes through the 100 or more physical channels, but not register any. I started the NPVR service, before I did that; and that does not seem to do anything. Also, I can't find on KODI under settings NPVR as one of the addons. I am kind of stuck between the two issues before I can proceed any further.
I'm trying to record from NPVR and save the file to another computer. Local recordings appear to be just fine. The folder has group rights of "EVERYONE" having full control. I can copy and paste a recording to my external system without a problem though.
From the nrecord log the following is happening...
what am I missing? Thanks for your help, Jake
