I noticed that the imageGrabLite instance called by PostEPGUpdate.bat is failing each night. The log file is attached.
I think that there is a problem with theTVDB.com returning an invalid .xml file, maybe? Can you put in something to catch such an error and just skip that program and continue with the rest of them rather than exiting the imageGrabLite run and not processing the rest of the show?
I am trying to set up NextPVR. I read the posts, and signed up for Schedule Direct. And some of my channels are showing data for a day or two. Some only for 6 hours or so. I ran the clear epg then update epg and attached the npvr.log. I am not real sure what I am reading in the log files but below it looks like it parses the xml just fine. So why can't I see the schedule out seven days?
Any and all help much appreciated.
cheers
bob

Kodi 16, which is currently in development, adds support for season recordings. For those that are trying a Windows build of Kodi 16, I've attached a few updated files for you to test this functionality against NextPVR.
Replace NextPVR's NShared.dll with the one attached.
Replace Kodi's pvr.nextpvr.dll and addon strings.po with the one attached.
I am using next PVR 3.5.7 in the USA, with OTA EPG. Many of my scheduled recordings fail. I've tried various scenarios to find what works.
If I keep the computer awake, and the main next PVR program running (not just NRecord), and the scheduled recording is made on a show with populated EPG data, it usually works. I've had one fail in this case.
If the computer is asleep, or the main next PVR program is not running, or the scheduled recording does not have populated EPG data, it usually fails.
I particularly don't understand why scheduled recordings without the EPG show name data fail. The scheduled recordings are set for daily or weekly recording, not using smart logic to detect episodes . The reason that EPG is often not populated, is I have to leave it the computer on overnight EVERY night to update the EPG. I don't like to leave the computer on a lot when I'm not using it, due to the fan noise.
Hello, I've been having problems with live TV freezing; sometimes it crashes, sometimes it resumes after a minute delay. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I heard cyber-link decoders are the best to use, but cant seem to get them. I've tried the unlocked saf provided here on the forums, with no luck.
Perhaps support is the wrong word - Touchscreen friendly?
Currently I can't set new recordings using my Windows 10 touchscreen tablet, or even Teamviewer from my phone, because I need to use the keyboard to navigate through the EPG.
It's not a massive issue - I get around it pretty easily, but as touchscreens slowly become the norm it seems a shame not to add support at some time...
(For info, the much bigger project, Kodi is also awful for touchscreen on Windows - amusing as they have android and ios versions which of course are native touchscreen So NPVR is in good company)
Hello
I have Next PVR 3.4.8. It was working fine and then for no apparent reason that I can find it was no longer recording. I checked the services and it was stopped. So I started it - and it did. Then I go back to NextPVR and when I press LiveTV I get the error "Unable To Communicate With Recording Service". Then I check the service again and it is stopped. I do not get any error messages other than that. I launch Windows Media Center and everything works fine and I can watch TV.
Also I tried to upgrade to the latest version and I get the following error "Can't write: C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR\NShared.dll"
Kodi works great with NextPVR on the localhost, but when I go to another device using IPTV it doesn't work. I have firewall rules enabled, IPTV works thought NextPVR software. I have also renumbered all the channels so they don't have sub numbers.
WMC server will steam tv to other PC but has no EPG. I need one or the other to work, I would prefer NextPVR if at all possible.
Can someone please help me, when I get home I can post log files.
I could not find the "best" place for this question, so I placed it here.
This site is great! The NextPVR program also gets high marks. But, there is a big problem on this site with many broken links. I have discovered how to get to where the information is by replacing the "gb" in the address bar with "next"
That fixes the problem. Just wondering if some one that has edit control could find the time to fix these links?
