I have nextpvr installed and working well for the most part. I would like to have the ability to watch my recordings on my android smartphone. I figured out how to do it using VLC stream & convert when I am home on the same network as my windows 7 server. I can't figure out how to access my recordings away from home via the internet. I read through the documentation wiki under web streaming capabilities, but I just couldn't wrap my head around the setup process. I don't know where to find the EWA screen to adjust for my having 64 bit Windows 7 is. In VLC somewhere? I have searched a lot and can't seem to find a dummy's guide to streaming. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Help! I've dug for weeks and cannot find anyone else running into this.
I record & watch all my TV via WMC, but since it is going away (Win10), I need to prepare for using other paths.
I have two Hauppauge Win-TV DCR-2650 that work perfectly under WMC. NextPVRdetects them OK (and even shows the channels before scanning), yet under Settings > Devices I get 'No' under the 'Present' column.
It, of course, cannot connect to them.
I have tried uninstalling & re-installing NextPVR, the Hauppauge WinTV7 & WinTV8 software, etc. in every imaginable order, but nothing works.
I have the latest device drivers, etc.
I also make sure I do not start WMC since the last reboot when attempting this (so as to not lock either device).
If I try to do a Channel-Scan on either of those (Present:'No') tuner devices, the window does nothing and when I try to exit, I get some error-window that I cannot escape w/out shutting NextPVR off via Task Manager.
(Endless loop: Close-error-window>Try-to-exit-scan-window>Error-window-again>Close-error-window>Try-to-exit-... etc. forever)
I've lost track of all the 'fixes' I've seen in forums that just don't work on my problem. (Win7 Pro, kept totally up-to-date)
I'm new to NextPVR and I already got Live TV working, but the playback stops/stutters for 1-3 seconds every ~6 minutes.
Now I've watched the hard disk with the buffer folder with the task manager. The first buffer file gets written continuously with about 0.5-1.0 MB/s. Then a new file gets written and the write speed drops to about 50 KB/s. After 6 minutes the hard disk activity jumps to 100% and at this time the playback stutters.
So why doesn't the app continue to write the buffer continuously after the first file?
My system:
i5 @ 3.00 GHz, 8 GB RAM
Win 8.1 with MC, 64-bit
Seagate ST950032 USB Device (for the buffer), NTFS formatted
AVerMedia A827 USB Hybrid (TV card, analog)
Is it possible to display the EPG (all channels) while watching TV?
My primary TV software for years has been "Windows Media Center", but it is suddenly giving me a world of trouble. It looks like M$ is about to discontinue it.
One of the things I loved about it was the EPG and being able to pull the Listings up while watching TV and switch channels simply by clicking on the current listing.
I know I can display the TV Listings from the launch menu, but I was wondering if there's a way to overly the EPG in NextPVR?

My tv guide has stopped updating. the epg xml seems to be generated ok but, after updating the guide in settings, still nothing is listed.

I just installed nextpvr to use as my kodi backend. When I first installed it, the main UI windows displayed normally (blue screen with clickable menu choices). After I set up my epg sources and installing my kodi front end addon, the main UI window is now just black. I am able to view live TV in nextpvr and right click on the black screen to access settings. I just separately installed the proper directx needed as per the read before you post sticky. Anyone have a clue? I'm not sure how to upload the log since this has to do with the actual program and not any pvr functions.

I had all stations showing on the NEWA interface TV Guide, but after I edited the channels and the ID numbers I lost all but one channel set from a single carrier.
Even though all channels appear in the NextPVR program, I'm only getting one set of channels from one carrier displaying in the Web interface.
I've updated the EPG (which is connected to an XMLTV source).
Not sure from where the NEWA gets its TV guide from, can anyone point me in the right direction?

I'm pretty sure this has been asked before, but I've been searching for half an hour now an couldn't find anything on this topic. In the Netherlands the cableproviders broadcast a list of transponders and channels on a few specific transponders. That means when your TV with DVB-C, settop-box or anything else scans for channels, it can receive a list of all channels and boom, they're all there. Now this works with Argus TV too, they call it 'Scan with NIT', where NIT stands for 'Network Information Table'. That's a great, great feature which prevents having to fiddle around with transponder files every time the provider changes channel layouts (and they do that a lot over here).
Is this possible with NPVR or should I make a feature request for that? If needed I can provide a capture of that specific transponder.
Recently upgraded to 3.4.8. Everything left the same. New recordings, since upgrade, are unplayable via nextpvr, kodi and VLC. Previously all 3 could play the files. Do I need to do a clean install? Is there a patch I am missing? I deleted and rescanned all channels. I have tried various combos of the codecs. I don't have a log file. Any advice appreciated.
When I try to populate the guide from the xml file I get information for the Food Network which appears to be on the channel id from ESPN.
