I'm trying to test streaming from Nextpvr. I go to http://localhost:8866 and the guide comes up just fine. When I click on "view live" for any channel, Firefox gives a grey box with the message "A plugin is needed to display this content". That's it. Doesn't tell me what plugin or anything else. IE just shows me an empty box and says something about a VLC plugin, which I cannot find anyplace.
I am running Windows 8.1 X64.
I am running 64 bit VLC. I have checked the "config-web.xml" to make sure it's pointing to the correct folder for VLC.
running Win7 64bit home premium
Live in Wellington New Zealand
Record Freeview
I have the latest Nexpver installed and use EPG collector for my XMLTV file.
All are fresh installs as I have just rebuilt my media PC from the bottom up
Both programs are running well and performing well!
BUT (isnât there always)
When I set record a season on PRIME TV it doesnât change the area on the Program guide to RED
However it does on a âQuickâ record!
This issue doesnât occur with any other channels
I am only guessing that itâs NPVR
This issue was happening with my old system towards the end and I simply thought it would be rectified with afresh install as it was to be a later version
Pardon me if I've missed a thread that covers this, but I wanted to know if it's possible to overlap recordings on the same channel when using a single-"tuner" device like a Hauppauge HD PVR 2. I suspect this would mean that the device itself just stays recording the whole time, but the file save process does double-duty during the overlapped sections. Is this possible, and if so, are there any downsides or caveats I should know about?
Alternatively, I suppose I could deal with one large file and split it up later on. The current max padding seems to be 89 minutes in the GUI, but I plan on recording a 5-hour block of a tv show marathon and want to ensure that none of the episodes' beginnings or ends get spread out between two file. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Can imageGrabLite be run a day after (for testing purposes) a recording and EPG update? Trying to run it on a yesterday created recording, and, I get the following logged. The recording does exist, with thatoid, and, shows up just fine in newa. So, wondering if you can run it after the fact, or, if something else might be wrong?

I'm currently running npvr 3.3.8 on a Windows 7 Home Premium desktop system. This system stays off the internet so scheduling Manual Recordings on a recurring basis is the preferred method.
The issue that I am having is that I may schedule npvr to record a program every Tuesday from 7 PM to 8 PM. The recording is successful on the first Tuesday after the recording is scheduled but fails to start the computer and do a recording on the second Tuesday.
I read somewhere that someone used a 'npvr -recurring' command. Is this what I need to do once a week or am I missing something?
Has something changed in 3.4.8 that would prevent tuning satellite channels? I noticed that it stopped finding any channels after only very few. The behaviour was the same on two separate machines utilising different dvb-s cards, both are internal pci types that have always worked before, different makes, as were the two PCs. Tuning was to the Astra 19.2 array.
Steps I've taken to verify problem:-
1) Clean install of 3.4.8 after backing up and getting rid of everything including the \public\NPVR data folder. Problem reproduces as described above even with no channels in a pristine database. Log files captured.
2) Clean install of 3.3.8 in same circumstances. Completely normal scanning and channel detection behaviour. Log files captured.
3) There is no problem with dvb-t tuning - this works as expected in 3.4.8 and 3.3.8
Log files captured from (1) and (2) above are in attached zip file. In both cases (1) and (2) I terminated the scans once they had been running long enough to clearly demonstrate the issue.
all went relatively well before i installed 3.4.8., but now it's a bit of a shambles
the epg and channel lists loads, and i can watch NPVR recordings on my XBMC STB and phone, but no live tv when i choose a channel from the guide or list. and its the same with firewall on or off (have the three NPVR permissions to get thru it)
i can see the hdhomerun tuner light start to flash for a bit but that's as far as it gets
Just wanted to ask, it seems the default behaviour is to strip "New:" from the start of shows on the EPG, such as "New: The Big Bang Theory" becomes "The Big Bang Theory". Is it possible to disable this? I actually quite liked the EPG having the "New:" in it, plus for me it is best if the NextPVR EPG is the same as the TV's own EPG.
Another point I didn't pick up on for a while, the Recurring recordings were for "New: The Big Bang Theory", and thus failed to find new recordings to make since the EPG has been stripping the "New:" off.
I appreciate some uses don't like the "New:" in the title, just wondering if there is an option in config to disable this, and if not to request the feature.
I am using NPVR with an HDHR3-US, and after about 25 minutes the stream freezes and says, "The tuner you were using was required for a recording. Would you like to switch to watching a recording, or exit back to the menu?" The only option it gives it to exit to the menu.
When this occurs there is no recording set, and there are 2 tuners available, while only 1 is being used.
The log for when it fails is below:

Update:
I tried again, but it no longer throws an error. Now it just freezes after about 25 minutes.
The log entry for when it froze is below:
2015-05-25 18:04:30.609 [DEBUG][91] Remaining bytes required=55648
2015-05-25 18:04:40.672 [DEBUG][26] Renew lease ok (0x150004)
2015-05-25 18:04:50.736 [DEBUG][26] Renew lease ok (0x150004)
This issue only occurs on the client PC's. On the server it never freezes. I disabled the firewall on the server, but it didn't help.
The logs are attached.
Looking at the client logs it looks like the client tries to renew the lease, and the server renews it, but the client never receives the renewal from the server.
In the client log NPVR.log.2 - 2015-05-25 18:04:40.664 [DEBUG][1] Client about to request renewal of handle: 150004 repeats until the program is closed.
I'm not sure if this is due to upgrading from W 8.1x32 to W 8.1x64 or the upgrade from NPVR 3.3.8 to 3.4.8 both took place at the same time.
When trying to start NPVR from the green button nothing happens - both boxes ticked in Misc 2 (It used to work, but usually lost focus)
When using some buttons (back in particular) a double press seems to be the outcome - I guess the above could be a double press as well.
I seem to remember there used to be a registry change to stop double presses but can't find what they are for Windows 8.1 Also e-home directory does not appear in Windows 8.1 Windows Directory.
