Just checking only... does NextPVR have logs or displays that shows reception errors? What I mean is something like detecting the number of errors encountered during live tv or recording, something like in the software DVBViewer Pro.
If you select "Act as a client PC" and mistype the share path in the Database Share field on the Devices page in Settings, you get an endless series of error dialogs when the program starts up next time and have to use the Task Manager to kill the program. In order to use the program again, you have to directly edit config.xml.
Perhaps the user should have to browse to the npvr.db3 file in order to change the path?
I use Schedules Direct for the TV Guide section of NPVR. I notice in going over some of the NPVR documentation there are several scenes with colorful TV channel logos. I use to have those when I used MS Media Center but have not had them for several years now. I've looked over the documentation and searched some of the comments but haven't found anything discrete about how you find and install the TV logos instead of just using channel numbers. Any info will be appreciated.
I am new to this forum. I have just installed the latest version of Npvr. So far I have been using Windows Media Centre with my HDHomerun tuner, but have been tempted to change to NPVR. Having now made the change I have a serious problem. First of all I have not been able to get the EPG to work (that's a different problem), so I have made some manual recordings instead. Using the main program - the NextPVR, making a timer recording works fine. But using the web interface (IP:8866) I haven't been able to make a timed recording that works properly. As soon as I fill in the form for name of recording, date and time to start, time to end and I click Record, the recording starts immediately. Even when there are several hours to go before the show I want to record starts airing! I have tried the web interface on the local PC, on a different PC on the same LAN, an iPad, and I have tried using both Internet Explorer and Google Chrome - and Safari browsers. There's no difference. The recording starts immediately in all instances. - As I say: the only interface I have found to work is the built-in Record interface within the NPVR program itself.
I am enclosing my logs for your study.
Just started using this program and I use Schedules Direct for my epg. I would like to use the -a command line parameter to indicate a new show. Is there anyway to do this??
Sorry if this post is in the wrong place. And thanks in advance to any support you can give me.
I'm a (pretty happy) Windows Media Center user with a Hauppauge dual-tuner and an HD Homerun Prime for Cablecard. Now that WMC is not going to be developed anymore, I'm looking at my options moving forward. Everyone recommends Kodi, but as I understand it, you still need a PVR back end. I've done some experimenting with NextPVR, and it seems like it does everything I need all by itself - Live TV and Scheduled Recording from the HD Homerun and Tuners, plus it appears to support my WMC remotes.
So my question is, what's the reason to add Kodi on top of NextPVR? What does Kodi add that NextPVR can't do by itself? Thanks!
I am guessing from the NRecord.log file that it is trying to use the colon in the program title to create a file. Shouldn't nextPVR prevent characters that cannot be used in filenames from the attempt to use them?
Is there a way to prevent this, knowing that any given day, there can be other shows with invalid characters and I am recording (or about to) all programs on all 6 network channels every day. So, I don't know what will be recorded without checking every single day.
In the attached NRecord.log file, find where it tries to do NCIS: New Orleans, you'll see several errors around 19:59:00 on 2015-06-02. Just one example.
I'm looking into getting a Colossus 2 and using a DirecTV DVR. I was wondering if you can use all that DVR functions within this program? Like an on-screen remote control like a Slingbox has? I really want to be able to watch TV on my computer and not have the lag that a Slingbox has. Thanks for reading my question.
