Hi, I was just wondering if there is any cause for delay in boot-up time before NEWA can come up. I ordinarily have my NPVR machine powered up all the time on a UPS. I rebooted it to create a Ghost image of that machine, since everything is exactly like I wanted it. Upon rebooting, everything worked, except that NEWA gave me a "Token" error (no NEWA interface in browser window, just a yellow and white error screen with generic error messages). I rebooted it a couple more times, then it started to work again.
Was there something I should have done beforehand, or was that just a random glitch?
I often toggle the "Start on Secondary Monitor" setting when I change to the projector from the monitor, due to the different resolutions. Is there a way to have different shortcut commands, or a command line setting, to set this one way or the other on startup?
I've moving recordings over night with a script that will then update the DB and point it at the new location.
When a new recording is started, is the DB looked at to determine that xyz show is greater than the number desired and remove the old ones? If so, do you know what log message is posted in this situation, I just want to verify it's working as mine to not seem to be managing themselves.
Actually I've just checked, and when using nextpvr I see 3 recordings of my show (as per the recording rules), but on the file system I see 7 recording files. So it seems the DB is being cleaned up but not the filesystem.
In the last three days I've had intermittent problems with tuners not being found. Only one of the tuners seems to be working, a reboot usually fixes the problem. In prime time there is no opportunity to diagnose the problem, "Just get my programmes recording" Thank goodness for the Plus1 channels
This morning I installed Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4 and rebooted, then tried recording several channels the first recording started on the Hauppauge Nova-T, but the HVR-2200 failed, logs attached.
After another re-start, both tuners are recording properly, i.e. 3 recordings on 3 different tuners.
I hope someone has some insights.
Does anyone know the best way to get kix and Pop+1 epg data. This is for freesat UK dvb-s card. Theres a few channels with no epg using the standard ota epg update method and I cannot see these channels in any xml feeds so far.
My HTPC is running Windows 7 64-bit, NextPVR v3.2.9 and using a Hauppauge HD-PVR. My Client PC is running Windows 7 64-bit with XBMC 13.2 and the NextPVR plugin v1.9.8
When tuning channels in Live TV, I get a Tuner no longer available error in XBMC. If I start LiveTV on the same channel it was last on, the recording works fine but if I then change channels or the first channel I pick in Live TV requires a channel change then I get the Tuner no longer available error. Recordings are saved on a local drive to the HTPC that is shared over the network to my Client PC.
When using the NextPVR interface directly on my HTPC, it will tune channels on Live TV without giving any errors at all. I have found and tried using two other NShared.DLL files found on these forums to address the issue but there was no improvement. I have also rebuilt the PVR and EPG databases in XBMC without any improvements. Recordings made from the EPG (not live tv) appear to tune the channel without any issues.
I have attached log files from XBMC and NextPVR for review.
UPDATE: I installed XBMC latest nightly build of 14.0 (Kodi) and it shows the NextPVR plugin at v1.9.11 but overall result is still the same.
UPDATE 2: Installed latest drivers to HD PVR and it appeared to solve the problem but it has since returned.
Hi
I've just done a rebuild after a corruption of the database killed my system (note to self, back up database etc regularly!!!)
I've just used the standard 3.2.9 install as there is no cumulative update (anyone know why?)
I wasn't sure which version of system to use for 3.2.9 as its ambiguous on the system page, ie is system-npr2 just for 2.6 or for versions past 2.6
Anyway I tried the first version and got a huge number of exceptions, so I thought I must need the version for 2.6 but that didn't work either. No exceptions, but nothing works at all, and every time you go into setting system is un-ticked, no matter how may times you tick it.
So have I done something dumb? Any ideas?
PS I've also noticed the the system plugin is still in the plugin menu even though I've deleted it from the plugin folder.
Hi!
As the title suggests really... I run the nPVR service on one machine and XBMC on clients. All's perfect, until the machine running the service goes to sleep and resumes. It's set to sleep if there's no activity for a couple of hours in the attempt to save a bit of power.... however, once the machine resumes the tuners aren't available to the clients... It also doesn't make a difference if I restart the nrecord service...
Anyone else had experience of this / found a solution?
NextPVR can't find any device(s), tho it worked perfectly before... a day before it normally recorded, next day it couldn't find devices, I didn't install any new software, hardware, no restart of the pc..
So it's throwing exception when I go to Settings -> Devices:
"Unhandled exception has occured in a component in your application..."

My Device "Evolve Venus", it's an AF90xx chip device, is working ok, is visible in Windows' Device Manager, and it works in other apps (DVB Dream). Btw I tested it on another pc with Win 8.0 Pro and NextPVR - there it is working ok.
My OS is Windows 8.1 Pro, so it could be maybe some combo of Win8.1 & NextPVR & last week's windows updates? Don't know... :/
I tried freshly reinstall NextPVR (with deleted folders in c:\Users\Public\... c:\Program Files\... deleted things in registry too),
reinstall drivers, tho it wasn't problem of device itself...
All without positive effect..
On September 9th 2014, Schedules Direct made an announcement on their forums that TMS is dropping DataDirect service on November 1st 2014 - however plans are in place but developers may want to take note of the upcoming changes.
Quote:"Thankfully there is no need to panic, as Schedules Direct was already hard at work implementing a more modern JSON-based service using newer/better data feeds from TMS. This service offers the following improvements:
More efficient "differential" transfer method. You only download the data that changes. Mid-day updates are fast and efficient.
The ability to combine multiple source feeds into one output product.
Additional data fields, including:
"season/episode" numbering!
Images for cast, episodes
NFL Sunday Ticket Details!!!!
Completely custom lineups, including "Free to Airâ Satellite
ability to share QAM tuning info
Additional International Lineups
This service is up and running now, and grabbers are available for MythTV and SageTV. We also encourage others to develop grabbers for their own applications.
In addition to the JSON service, a separate service is being developed to mimic the DataDirect feed. It's not ready yet but should be able to provide basic functionality for those legacy applications that can't move to JSON. It is expected to have most, but not all of the data currently in the Data Direct feed and will be updated daily. More details will be available about this later."
