Is there any chance NPVR will ever support DLNA clients?

  Missing BBC Freeview HD Channels
Posted by: Lt. Dang - 2014-06-26, 08:34 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Hi, newbie here setting up npvr for the first time to receive & record UK Freeview channels.
I have 64 bit Windows 7 installed on an Acer Revo using a Pinnacle PCTV 292e USB tuner.
The setup is working fine apart for HD Freeview channels which has BBC News HD and BBC Four HD missing.
I know my tuner and aerial are ok because when I scan for channels using Windows Media Center or the original Pinnacle software the missing HD channels are picked up fine. But the channel scan on npvr does not pick them up? Does anyone have any tips on what I could be doing wrong?
Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

Portal offline,NextPVR for Samsung zip available here.
Posted by: reven - 2014-06-26, 05:11 AM - Forum: NextPVR for Samsung - Replies (7)

Hi Guys,

I've taken my portal host offline (needed the box for a kids computer). So I've attached the latest zip here. It no longer has any portal stuff in it and you dont need to register it.

I'll speak to fred250 about using his deployment app for this.

for now, this post is kinda a placeholder for the zip while I take the server offline and format it Smile

  Force close on record

All attempts to press the record button are giving a force close in TE. Sorry no logs to hand as I post this so let me know if not repeatable and I'll dig them out later

Out of memory error, tracking down a leak?
Posted by: ttfitz - 2014-06-25, 08:36 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I've been having trouble since upgrading to the latest version with getting an unhandled exception, "Out of memory" error. At that point, task manager shows NextPVR using over 1 GB of RAM.

Any hints on running this down? I read some messages from last year here with someone tracing it to a leak in an old version ffdshow, but I am running a later one. I thought it mostly happened after watching some m2ts files under Videos, but I got up to 470MB after watching two TS files as recorded by NextPVR - is that high, or about right?

Thanks.

NPVR needs to lock the tuner on HD PRIME, (so other apps don't steal it)
Posted by: Spark - 2014-06-23, 11:25 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (22)

I ran into a situation where NPVR was doing a recording, but, it failed to lock the tuner.
That means, that other apps were free to use it, and NPVR didn't notice it, and it couldn't record anything after that.

Please consider adding a lock capability to NPVR.

Code:
KEY=$RANDOM
hdhomerun_config FFFFFFFF set /tuner0/lockkey $KEY
hdhomerun_config FFFFFFFF key $KEY set /tuner0/channel 128
hdhomerun_config FFFFFFFF key $KEY set /tuner0/program 3
hdhomerun_config FFFFFFFF key $KEY save /tuner0 capture.ts
hdhomerun_config FFFFFFFF key $KEY set /tuner0/lockkey none

Bug in watched recording logic (videos plugin)
Posted by: gEd - 2014-06-22, 10:56 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

In videos plugin.
I watched R:\archive\green wing\series 1\episode 1.avi. When I then went to watch R:\archive\green wing\series 2\episode 1.avi, the plugin incorrectly showed that I had watched the show. i.e. is doesn't take account of the full path name, only the file name.

Hello,

I an running nPVR v3.2.9 on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit. I have installed the Universe Plugin. I am able to select UPNP locations using my mouse, but any key press throws an exception. Makes it impossible to scroll or use on devices without a mouse. Attached are the error and my logs. I appreciate any help you may provide.

Does NPVR do any buffering/processing with HDhomerun PRIME ?
Posted by: Spark - 2014-06-22, 12:52 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

I am curious, does NPVR do anything special with the feed it gets from the PRIME ?
What I mean is, say you have NPVR doing a recording, and then you do another recording via the PRIME itself.
Once done, if you compare the recordings, they are not the same, and the one on NPVR is usually bigger.
They don't even match while doing a hex diff of the files.

http://192.168.1.18:5004/auto/v188?duration=3720 (3720= 1 hour and 2 mins)
Have NPVR record same channel, with 1 min pre and 1 min post padding.

I am thinking NPVR is doing extra processing on the stream ?

X-NEWA 2.4.0 now with Confluence skins
Posted by: mvallevand - 2014-06-21, 12:24 PM - Forum: X-NEWA - Replies (1)

Thanks to some really great work from pkscout X-NEWA native skins have been ported to the standard XBMC Confluence skin layout. With my skinning skills I couldn't even imagine undertaking this. The original layout is optionally available in the X-NEWA Settings. If you aren't using Confluence or still use Frodo you might need to continue to use the classic skin.

Feedback on the skins is appreciated.

The normal installation instructions apply and are here http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post476601 Automatic updates should happen in your next few runs.

This update includes some changes that UJB has added in the next version of the NEWA API to set recording priority, I'll provide an update on this when it is available.

Martin
