When I went into my recordings directory, I selected one of my recordings and used the "Find All" option. A list of additional shows from the series popped up as intended. However, when I selected one of the shows for a quick record, the program locked up and stopped responding. I had to use task manager to stop the program.

I really like the description keyword recording feature of NEWA, it is so much easier than creating an advanced rule for the same thing in NextPVR but it has one serious drawback, it doesn't care if the same recording has been already recorded, deleted, or scheduled. I have one show coming up 6 times in the next week. In a future release I am hoping that you could provide a filter where the unique id is checked against against those three tables before scheduling a "new" recording.

Or, make me an offer on anything. I'm just cleaning out some stuff and would rather pass them on to someone who can give them a good home. PM me if interested.
I'd also like to sell a complete Windows 7 based PC. Itâs near silent as itâs mostly my old HTPC (see link in sig). Again, PM me if interested.
I have setup openelec XBMC with NPVR but noticed that recordings do not update. I have to go to settings and do a manual EPG reset to get latest recordings. Is there a setting I am missing that automatically updates recordings? Thanks.
Ever since the April Patch Tuesday - like countless others I have been having serious install and stability issues on my HTPC.
First problem, the 2.3 mb update from the MSDN early release refused to install - after trying various proffered fixes from the net, the pc gave up and refused to boot into windows.
Second problem, reinstalling Windows 8 + updates then 8.1 + updates left me pre update 1 and still would not install the now 130+mb update.
At last I thought success - But over the next few days Windows was becoming more and more unstable with several hard crashes or going into Zombie mode, causing disk errors and unrepairable SFC errors.
Several more installs always ended the same - Memory checked out OK, Disk checked OK, Windows installed OK, then slowly died over the next week or two.
Last week I found the problem - I hope.
After an "in-place" install Windows Maintenance kicked in as I was on the desktop. After about 5 mins the CPU temperature started to rise above the "normal" 65-70 C that Core Temp shows (this is one of the AMD Dual core CPU's that have dodgy thermistors) after a minute it reached 95C then in a few seconds started shooting up (Guess that's thermal runaway) to 130C where the PC tripped.
On opening up the lid on the PC (Can of Dust Remover in Hand) - Careful inspection revealed, not much dust, but that the Blu-Ray Drive was actually resting on the CPU Cooling Fan (Took me ages to find a short front to back case to fit under the TV - now I know why there aren't more )
Removed the fan from the cooler and then with the said Hacksaw & Stanley (craft) knife removed about 1/4 inch (6mm for those who have been Metrificated) off one side of the top flange of the Fan. Reinstalled the fan and leaned heavily on the Cooler Retaining Levers. Then ran Computer maintenance with no problems.
The HTPC has been running stable for the last 5 days - I believe that after Windows Updates the Maintenance Program now compresses a lot of unused files to save disc space, which uses 100% CPU for several minutes.
Moral of the story - Microsoft may be **** (insert expletive here) But some things may just be beyond their control.
XBMC Gotham 13.1 with NPVR "Live" add-on. Works brilliantly but - I can see TV channels in XBMC fine, but selecting a radio channel after a TV channel results in "No tuner available..." or something like that.
Selecting a TV channel will work after that, and radio works first up after a reboot. Both (Satellite) TV and Radio (same tuner card) are absolutely fine from the NPVR (3.2.9) GUI.
Apologies everyone if this is not strictly an NPVR issue.
I seem to have this problem with Nextpvr where the recording service freezes while recording or watching LiveTV (mostly recording). When this happens the tray icon stays red even when nothing is recording and it only stops after I reboot. During reboot Windows 7 sits at shutting down for about 5 minutes then BSODs. I'm kind of a newbie at this so I'll try my best to understand.
If you go into the ALL RECORDINGS section and then select a recording with a '?' in the name you get no response. When I looked at the XBMC log (attached), there is a script error that I think is related to the fact that '?' is a reserved character in Windows. I only get this if trying to get to the details from the ALL RECORDINGS screen. If I select the same show in the WHAT'S NEW area on the Dashboard, it comes up fine.
I've also noticed that I can never get XNEWA to display a poster for Whose Line is It Anyway? (even though it shows in the NextPVR client), and I'm wondering if that issue is related to this as well.
I'd like to change the recording (not recorded) name by removing timestamp and adding subtitle. Is this possible?
I've tried a few things, IGL works great for renaming a recorded file but there's a lot of files it isn't able to process and in that case having the subtitle can be very beneficial.
