Hello- Trying to be cheap with old PC running NextPVR just to have EPG. Would like to find a way to click on EPG and change my 2011 Sammy (LN46C650 series latest firmware, no Smarthub) TV channel, maybe using USB UIRT device. Found this project so now I am trying to access the app on my 2011 Sammy Bluray model BD-5700 (latest firmware). I'm thinking a better PC and this app will let me use the EPG and watch NPVR on the TV without having to change inputs on the TV (Samsung is great but has two annoying quirks in almost all models, 1- cannot directly enter channel numbers when tv is on an external input, it will not switch tv to the tuner that way, and 2- Sammy specifically says it does not believe in variable audio output levels that would allow you to use tv remote volume controls to change volume on sound bar or home theatre receiver that the tv analog or digital audio output is connected to).
The Bluray player does allow me to add Develop account and login, I see develop in the lower left corner like I should, and it does allow me to enter this project's IP address and then click on Synchronize to the account button just underneath the IP setting button.
But then I get a network or interference error so I can't see the app to download it. I started trying last night (Jan 21) and continued again today. I am in America. The Bluray player is connected with a static IP directly to my CenturyLink DSL modem which has default settings for everything (no port forwarding etc). Other apps on the player can access the internet fine.
Is there something about this version of Smarthub that is not compatible with today's Develop accounts? Is there some modem configuration to do? Is the project blocked from allowing new members?
PS- Reven says in one thread that the 2012 models are REALLY slow compared to the 2013 models, I can say that the 2011 model is so slow at all internet apps that I use them on the TV instead, which is MUCH faster even though it is the same model year.
The Subject says most of my issue. I'm running XBMC (Frodo) and have enabled the NextPVR client. (Sorry - I don't recall the NextPVR version I'm running.)
When I play a video stream (either tuned TV or a recording) through just NextPVR I get no sound. However when I play a stream or recording using the NextPVR client from within XBMC audio works no problem.
I did a quick search of the forum and couldn't find this issue described. I've tried what seems like every combo of codec setting in NextPVR.
I just tried updating to the latest version (0.2.64.239). It said it downloaded OK. But when I tried to run the app, it appears to have hung on the splash screen. Also, on that screen, it shows "{{LoadingMessage}}" and "version {{Version}}".
After powering off the Blu-ray player (post-update--I had already rebooted it just before doing the update), then I got the registration code. Also, FYI, the message with the URL for activation is cut off on my screen as: "Please visit http:/portal.reven.co.nz and enter the verification code to active this de"
It appears that after entering the activation code on the portal, I had to press the back button on the remote to get the blu-ray player to continue. (Or maybe it just registered/timed out at the same time as I tried pressing that key.)
Next, I went and tried playing a recording. It did being playing OK. However, again, the comskip (.edl) information didn't seem to get loaded. I tried just exiting the app and then going back in and playing the same recording again. Still no .edl info. Exited app, rebooted device, reran app, and still no .edl. Then switched back to the PCH and verified that the edl info was read and used there.
Being a newbie, I have installed/uninstalled (from control panel) couple of cycles. During these installations, I noticed the previous settings are not erased/removed. What files/registry entries I should deleted if I want to uninstall NextPVR completely from my PC?
Thanks.
I recently set up a back-to-back scheduled recording, with only a single analog source. Prior to v3.1.1 this worked well, and NRecord transitioned from recording 1 to recording 2 at recording 2's start time, eliminating my 5 minute pre- and post-recording buffers. Last night the first recording worked fine, but the second recording is missing. There is a second recording directory present, but it is empty. The first recording file timestamp seems to include a 5 minute post-recording buffer which I didn't expect. No "failed recording" shows up in the recording list, the second just vanishes from NPVR's database.
System is WinXP SP3 32 bit with a HVR-2250 card, satellite receiver output connected to one analog input. I attached the pertinent chunk of NRecord.log below (first recording = Archer, second recording = Chozen). Any ideas about what's going on?

I just installed the Samsung app version 0.2.64.239 and am running nextpvr 3.1.1. When I connected the first time it asked for me to registrar the device. Once completed it took me to the home screen.
When I try to either play a recording or watch live tv I just get a black screen.
The guide works fine as well as listing all recordings. Please let me know if you need additional information.
Thought at first it was the slow Core2Du machine in my bedroom. So I tossed in a a Core2Quad PC, all on gig ethernet.
Loads ok, recordings work fine. Live TV works, takes about 5 seconds to start the picture. When I am done, it then takes about 3 minutes to get back to the main screen. Tuner is released right away, picture then "freezes" for a while until it goes back to the main menu.
I tried using the UNC server as well as direct IP with no change, even disabled ipv6 on both machines.
