Hi, after a problem yesterday I did a clean install of 3.1.1 + 3a patches.
Sadly, now when I scan for channels it crashes randomly during the process, sometimes immeadiately and sometimes when it would appear almost to be near the end but usually after a few seconds.
When I say it crashes - the nPVR UI terminates - nothing in system application/system event logs.
Two tuner cards behave the same - with only one fitted or with both.
Tearing my hair out (what little remains).
Logs attached.
I am running under XP+SP3+updates
The cards are Haupage
I am scanning using the "FREESAT ONLY" satelite setting
I have a feeling this is a simple question - but I can't seem to find an answer with the searching I've been doing.
I live in the US. I need to get EPG data into NextPVR, and I think I've concluded XMLTV is the best way to do that. I guess that's my first question: Is that the right approach?
Assuming it is - is there a way to generate an XMLTV file that doesn't require a Schedules Direct subscription? I know it's a reasonable cost - but I prefer to not do that if I could.
nPvr has been working flawlessly for a couple of months and now, jast last night, all recordings stop after the .ts file reaches a couple of megabytes.
I havent changed a thing, honest !!
Any ideas/suggestions ??
I have restarted the recording service and even rebooted the machine, and run a chkdisk to no effect.
Looking at the nPVR status it says it is recording --- but the filesize is not increasing and playing the file results in only a few seconds of video.
Hi there.
In Australia, some TV channels are changing their frequencies and we will need to retune our equipment so that all the channels are scanned in correctly.
Will this effect NextPVR in any way?
will someone with a new haupauge TV card need to rescan their channels and create some new ini files for NEXTPVR to use, or will we be able to just rescan for the channels with the ones already there?
Thanks.
I am getting the following error when I try to update my EPG:
Unexpected Error: The underlying connection was closed: The connection was closed unexpectedly.
I have contact schedulesdirect and they said everything is fine on their end. I also tried to create a new username to see if it might be a problem with my account.
Thanks to Johnsonx42, Martin, an Sub for all of your help and sugestions. It was Sub's PDOOMA (thats an old southern expression that stands for "pulled directly out of my a**) about possibly a .net problem that got me digging there. Found a failure half way through the update to netframe 4.5.1 for some unknown reason with a sucessfull update the next try the following day. Blew out .net 4.5.1 and downloaded new 4 and everything is great. The copious dose of single malt also helped.
Every night when I got to bed my PC's are asleep. Every morning when I wake up my PC's are awake. I'm trying to figure out what is waking my PC's at night and preventing them from going back to sleep. Both machines are windows 7 machines. Here is the results from powercfg...
