I posted this in xbmc forum, but think it might be more relevant here...
I have been getting strange things happening with recorded shows lately. The show might read as 17 hours or so long, and the play bar reflects this. All is well for say 40 mins, then picture begins to break up and make those squiting sounds that digital does. Length of recording changes, and so does the current time played in the recording. Eventually the whole thing grinds to halt - or if trying to skip an add you timewarp to somewhere much later.
I don't have any signal problem when just watching on the tv via its own tuner though. And previously I have used a signal checking program that revealed nothing of interest on the pc in question. All else I can do is put my osciloscope on the aerial one time.
Has anyone else experienced these symptoms and am I correct in suspecting signal? Ot could it be codecs etc?
It was all working swimingly for a while, too
I use EPG Collector and have always got 8 days data, but today I only have 6 days worth.
I looked on the online guide on tvnz, and they don't go past next Tuesday either.
Is anyone else in NZ still getting next Wednesday and Thursday's data?
First off I am still using 2.6.2. I did have a go at upgrading but had problems with database locked so reverted back to 2.6.2. I hope I can still get some help with this the older version.
Programs I have set up as recurring are not being picked up and recorded. I have had this problem for a while but can see no pattern to how this occurs.
I did try changing the time of the EPG update to a know quiet time, in the afternoon, but this didn't seem to help.
Noticed that the NRecord.log shows very low numbers for new listings after an update and wondered if this may be relevant:

I have attached the logs for anyone willing to have a look.
I'm using NPVR 3.1.1. with DVB-S - Hauppauge WinTV 885 ALT BDA Tuner/Demod device. Most of the recordings go fine, but sometimes the whole day long they all fail.
I can't find any errors in the log files (attached). I've got two other computers running the same software and devices. They don't have this problem.
since the work around is not to use the 1.6.5 XBMC client, where is an earlier version available from ?
Channel Changes Freeze
Description of problem:
When using XBMC 12.2 with NPVR Addon 1.6.5 changing channels causes XBMC to freeze and the only fix is to kill XBMC and restart it.
Symptoms
You can begin to watch one channel fine, upon switching to a second channel you will see it begin to record a timeshift file (which will quickly disappear) and the NPVR status will report the new channel is tuned and the tuner is in use but XBMC will sit there and behave as if it is playing the new channel although it is not. A frozen view of the previous channel will remain on the screen. At this point the only thing which can be done is to forcibly close XBMC, stop all NPVR processes, clean up timeshift files and restart everything. It is impossible to ever change channels for me when I am in this particular configuration.
Current Fixes or Workarounds?
Do not use version 1.6.5 of XBMC NPVR Addon
For a future update if NextPVR senses an error on the destination it would be nice if it attempted to go to the Default rather then acting normally

They even show as status 2 with a file that doesn't exist.
As it says, my recordings and live TV are fine for a few days after a reboot the it will just getting choppy until I reboot again.
Before this issue started I had a single computer setup that had no issues. A few weeks ago I changed the setup - moving the original single comp to another room and setting up a client using the original comp as the server. At that time I saw 3.1.1 was available so I installed that on the client and updated the server. A few days later I noticed the choppy audio starting. I was running SAF so I switched to CCCP (which almost worked perfectly except rewinding blue-ray rips) but a couple of days later the choppiness is back.
I've not installed any of the patches yet and I don't see any dealing with audio choppiness anyway. I'm also not seeing any support messages about choppy sound so it's probably something particular about my setup - I just can't guess what it is. I'm hoping the attached logs will provide an explanation (though I couldn't see anything myself).
I can't seem to get this to work anymore, my recordings are not renamed to episode SxExx. I use my D and schedules direct native for epg. I'm using the latest version of npvr.
