NEXTPVR with UPC in The Netherlands
Posted by: wosp3 - 2013-07-10, 07:05 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

Since april this year UPC customers in the Netherlands can use Digital TV without encryption. I would like to use this on my HTPC and bought a "Digital Devices Cine C/T" (Dual DVB-C/T tuner-card) and installed this card in my HTPC. NextPVR does see the tuner, but when I scan for channels I don't find anything because the right profile is missing. I was wondering why there is no option for manual settings/configuration?!

And, how can I make NextPVR scanning at the right place? I hope there is a soon solution for this and the new UPC profiles will be added soon to NextPVR.

I have no idea what you're talking about - where do I start?
Posted by: jayess99 - 2013-07-09, 08:25 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

I've gone round and round the wiki page, getting started page, etc., etc., it's just a continuous loop, with no end in sight. I have a laptop, installed NextPVR on it. What do I do next? Do I hook the laptop to the TV, can I watch television shows on the laptop, how does the nextpvr interact with the laptop? do I need HDMI cables for anything? You folks talk about getting started but you seem to be starting in the middle, not the beginning. And if I use the laptop and connect it to the TV (I have no idea how to do this), do I then have to get up and walk to the laptop every time I want to change the channel, or use the TV guide, or whatever? This all probably sounds stupid to you, but I was not born knowing this stuff. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance. jayess

  Media Browser Integration
Posted by: lukemb3 - 2013-07-09, 07:14 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (557)

Hey guys,
I'm one of the lead developers of Media Browser 3 and would like to integrate this product into ours. Is there anywhere I can find api information? It appears most of the developer docs are geared towards next pvr plugin development, whereas I would be talking to it externally.

For a little background, about us, MB3 is a client-server architecture with streaming and encoding to multiple devices. We have the following clients in production:

- Media Browser Classic (wmc)
- Media Browser Theater (new htpc client, in WPF)
- Android
- iOS
- Roku
- Win Phone
- Win RT
- HTML5 Web client (built into server)
- Media Portal 1/2

Thanks.

  XBMC NPVR Client/Server Issue
Posted by: tokekin - 2013-07-09, 03:20 PM - Forum: Add-ons (3rd party plugins, utilities and skins) - Replies (5)

I have my home media server set up and running the Ceton Infinitv 4 USB with SageDCT 2.7.2, NPVR 2.6.2 and XBMC 12.2 (I think I got those versions right.) Currently, I can watch/record 4 different channels in XBMC on the server. However, when I am watching 1 channel on the server and I select a channel on one of the clients; the client will steal the tuner from the server. I get a "Tuner No Longer Available" message. The server can usually steal the tuner back from the client if I select a different channel on the server, but it's like the clients and the server don't know which tuner the others are using so they always take tuner #1. What do I do?

I am pretty new at this whole home server setup and npvr/xbmc. I recreated the problem and tried to post the logs, but I'm not sure I did it right. Thanks for any help!

  Audio stops
Posted by: merkleg - 2013-07-09, 04:18 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

I just downloaded 2.6.2 and using it with HDHomerun on Windows 8. Video works fine and audio is OK for about 15 seconds; then, audio quits. I close nPVR and reopen; then experience the same occurrence.

Colossus Slow Motion Recordings and No Sound
Posted by: ToughRowToHoe - 2013-07-09, 02:41 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

Having problems sorting this out. My Colossus tuner works with WinTV but is moving in slowmo with no sound on the SPDIF in NPVR. Any thoughts?

  Recording Repeats
Posted by: devonuto - 2013-07-09, 12:10 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

When I'm recording a show in "Series" mode, it's picking up all the repeated viewings. In the EPG, they're marked as [RPT]. Is there a way to get the program to ignore these ones, and not record them?

I'm still pretty new to this application, and was looking at the GuidePlus utitlity, but I'm not sure how to use it to stop repeats from recording, or if it's possible to do so?

For reference, I'm on an x64 Windows 7 machine.

  Automatic SD mapping
Posted by: mvallevand - 2013-07-08, 10:59 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

After going through an rather arduous atsc mapping to schedules direct (10+ clicks each) I'd like to propose an automated solution. If NextPVR kept the major/minor from the scan, it could all be automated against channel/channelMinor

Code:
<lineup id='PC:K1A0' name='Local Broadcast Listings' location='Antenna' type='LocalBroadcast' postalCode='K1A0R2'> <map station='10130' channel='2'/> <map station='10137' channel='36'/> <map station='52235' channel='9' channelMinor='1'/> <map station='52689' channel='50' channelMinor='2'/> <map station='58494' channel='4' channelMinor='1'/> <map station='64990' channel='60' channelMinor='1'/> <map station='64994' channel='14' channelMinor='1'/> <map station='68025' channel='13' channelMinor='1'/> <map station='68285' channel='65' channelMinor='1'/> <map station='72715' channel='43' channelMinor='1'/> <map station='73010' channel='6' channelMinor='1'/> <map station='73016' channel='24' channelMinor='1'/> <map station='73107' channel='34' channelMinor='1'/> <map station='73190' channel='42' channelMinor='1'/> <map station='73192' channel='11' channelMinor='1'/> <map station='73196' channel='30' channelMinor='1'/> <map station='73198' channel='40' channelMinor='1'/> <map station='74704' channel='41' channelMinor='2'/> </lineup>

Code:
2013-07-08 18:49:09.009 [INFO][1] Metadata: <sdt> <tsid>17193</tsid> <onid>0</onid> <service> <service_id>0x3</service_id> <service_name>CBOT-DT</service_name> <service_provider_name>ATSC</service_provider_name> <major>4</major> <minor>1</minor> <service_type>0x1</service_type> <running_status>1</running_status> </service> </sdt>

  sqLite recording table
Posted by: fvfv - 2013-07-08, 02:16 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

I'm writing a little php utility to rename shows a bit more "Library" friendly, such as "Under the Dome.S01E03.ts" using thetvdb api. I'm sure there are many renamers out there, but none that fit my needs so far.

I'm extremely curious as to how does NPVR pick up the actual file name from the RECORDED table, being that the definition for filename in the recorded table is only varchar(50). How does it know when you have a long folder name like
"c:/media/tvshows/recordings/Beauty and the Beast (2012)/Season 1/Beauty and The Beast_part1.S01E13.20080925110101.ts",
Which obviously is longer than 50 characters.

I know all about the :metadata.xml stream that is part of the actual recording file, but that means that NPVR would have to scan the physical folder at start up to get the actual file name.

Is there another table where the filename is stored ?

My object is to rename the physical file as well as the SQLite database so that I can play the recording with NPVR or any other player.

  How to move completed recordings?
Posted by: devonuto - 2013-07-08, 08:27 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I want to be able to move completed recordings, as I have a watch-folder function for handbrake which automatically converts the files to mp4 and adds them to iTunes.

Problem is, if I put the watch on the folder which the recordings go into, which seems to kick off the conversion before the recording is completed, so naturally, the best outcome would be to move the completed file to a different folder, which could then kick off the conversion... just having an issue doing this.

Any help would be appreciated.
