  Stuttering video
Posted by: sgorveatt - 2013-05-15, 02:27 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I'm not sure if you guys deal with this kind of question, but I thought I'd give it a try.

I have a HVR-1250 tuner and I have issues with stuttering when using my secondary display (720p HDTV hooked up with HDMI) but the feed is perfectly smooth on my primary (old LCD monitor hooked up with DVI). This problem software specific as it happens when using the NextPVR program or Hauppauge's WinTV software. I tried switching my primary desktop through windows, but it doesn't make a difference. Playing 720p or even 1080p videos (ie. mkv, avi, etc.) is perfectly smooth on the HDTV panel, so it does work fine just not with my tuner apparently. The feed is an ATSC HiDef OTA. I checked signal strength and its very high.

I personally believe its a issue with the frame rate from the TV feed and the secondary monitor not matching. I decided to ask here as I'm not sure where to turn. Do you guys no of some sort of refresh rate matching software/tweak?

Windows 7 64 bit
AMD APU A8-3850
ATSC OTA feeds

Primary monitor:
1440 x 900 Refresh Rate of 61 Hz

Secondary monitor:
1360 x 768 Refresh Rate of 60 Hz

Thanks for any help

System sleeps too fast to do an EPG update.
Posted by: mvallevand - 2013-05-14, 10:09 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

I have my EPG wake for 04:43 and all my sleep times are 20 minutes.

In event view I see this

Code:
The system has resumed from sleep. Sleep Time: 14/05/2013 5:03:49 AM Wake Time: 14/05/2013 8:42:02 AM

Yet much earlier than 5:03 I see it sleep after just 7 minutes from wakeup.

Code:
14/05/2013 4:50:31 AM The system is entering sleep.

Not giving ScheduleDirect enough time to react

Code:
2013-05-14 04:49:10.775 [DEBUG][8] Requesting listings from Schedules Direct 2013-05-14 17:30:54.515 [ERROR][8] Unexpected error getting listings from schedules direct: System.Net.WebException: The operation has timed out.

Anyone have any ideas

Normal SD time is about two minutes.

Code:
2013-05-13 22:56:14.779 [DEBUG][1] Requesting listings for the period: 2013-05-13T00:00:00Z to 2013-05-27T23:59:59Z 2013-05-13 22:58:29.558 [DEBUG][1] Got SchedulesDirect response

  Wrong epg source
Posted by: WKleeven - 2013-05-14, 07:25 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (22)

In the past I only had a analogue tv-card and I got the epg-data from xmltv-file. When I got a digital card, I merged a number of channels and changed the epg-source to dvb for those channels that I wanted an epg for.

Since then, whenever I didn't reboot for some days, I ran out of epg-data. Just recently I saw that I had xmltv grab data after a reboot. It looks like nextpvr still uses epg data from xmltv although I configured nextpvr to grab the dvb epg data.
Manually grabbing the dvb epg data (through nextpvr) works fine though.

Perhaps deleting <LastXmltvFile>D:\Prive\GB-PVR\MC2XML\xmltv.xml</LastXmltvFile> in config would solve it??

  Asus EHC3150 tune error
Posted by: rcandeletti - 2013-05-14, 03:48 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I have an Asus EHC3150 tuner which had been working normal up until now. I have Time Warner Cable in Upstate NY and they recently updated some of their QAM channels. If I connect my TV directly to the cable I am able to pick up some channels that will not tune on my NextPVR setup. They show as available and unencrypted and even add to the Guide, but when I tune to them I get a black screen. I can tune to other channels, but not ESPN HD, ESPN2 HD or TBS HD, all of which are being broadcast in unencrypted QAM. When I went into the device settings and tried to edit the channel details I could not select anything but MPEG2 SD as a service type. Am I completely off base assuming that the wrong service type is why I can not tune those known working channels? Is this a known problem or is there something completely obvious I may be overlooking?

FIXED!!!!
Seems the channel name was too long (the autopopulated on) I changed it and all is good

  HVR-2200 (and other hybrid tuners)
Posted by: SteveS1949 - 2013-05-13, 09:39 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Hi,
I am looking at getting a tuner that can watch/record 2(or more) channels simultaneously. Are these cards (HVR-2200) able to do this? I am a little confused around the hybrid dual tuner capabilities

Cannot select Microsoft DTV-DVD as Video Decoder | Win 8 Pro + MC
Posted by: Omenatalo - 2013-05-13, 02:36 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (15)

New user here finding my way with this great software.

So here's the problem. I don't seem to be able to select Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder as the MPEG2 video decoder for live TV. It was selected by default after installation for DVD MPEG2 video playback and is also selected for MPEG1 audio. Thanks to this patch I can now select Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder as the H.264 video decoder, but I can't seem to get NextPVR to use it for the MPEG2 video decoder. The drop down only gives the "disabled" option and the file browser button to the right doesn't seem to do anything at all. What am I doing wrong?

My system is close to a clean install Windows 8 Pro with Media Center pack. NextPVR, XBMC and Comskip are about the only things installed so far. NextPVR logs attached.

Any help would be most welcome!

Missing channels after Australian digital retune
Posted by: nessiemon - 2013-05-13, 10:58 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Australian SBS TV moved to 184500 Khz last month. When I scan my tuner it does not pick up the new channel. I have used another program (DNTV Live) to check the channels and that too missed the new channel. However it did allow manual selection of the frequency and it was then tuned in strongly. Seems like NPVR is skipping over the channel as it tunes frequencies above and below it.

I have selected offsets. I have selected Australia/Adelaide as the region.

Help requested.

  nDroid Service v1.8.9 update
Posted by: bgowland - 2013-05-12, 11:21 PM - Forum: nDroid - No Replies

No changes to the nDroid v1.x app but I've fixed the problem where the nDroid Service Settings application crashes on 64-bit versions of Windows.

Download can be found on the nDroid wiki page.

This version of the nDroid Service supports both nDroid 1.x and nDroid (TE).
