  Unhandled exception on channel scan
Posted by: schnarkle - 2013-05-18, 01:03 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Hi,
New setup with Win 7 32bit, Hauppauge WinTV-Pvr350
I've installed Win-TV 7 and my device appears and shows as active I the settings of NPVR.

When I hit scan on analog I get this:
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Attached log. I hope this is enough info to help diagnose.

Thanks for any tips!

  How do I setup auto archiving every night
Posted by: coolwizkid - 2013-05-17, 07:15 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

I am running the latest version. I have a very small hard drive attached to the computer NextPVR is running on. How do I setup auto archiving so that every night I can move all my recordings to the NAS drive ?

I did try recording directly to my NAS drive but when I am recording 2 shows at once, due to the network speed the recording has too many glitches making it un-watchable. It works fine when I record it directly to my hard drive and then archive it to my NAS drive manually.

  mc2xml setup help needed
Posted by: Snodric - 2013-05-17, 03:48 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

I tried to follow BT Justice's (well written) but when I double-click on the updateepg.bat file all I get is a flash black (looks like the bat file is running and then nothing). I've attached screen shots to show how things are set up (I changed the bat file to a txt file so I could show how I've copied what is in the instructions into the bat file). Any help is much appreciated!

  Quick HDHomeRun Prime Question
Posted by: werkkrew - 2013-05-16, 06:25 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (7)

So I have been using ArgusTV +XBMC with my Hauppauge 1250 for a little while using ATSC OTA broadcasts but I think I want to spring for an HDHR Prime and NPVR seems to be the best bet in terms of supporting that device. I did some forum searches and found answers to some/most of my questions but I am still a bit unclear about a few things and many of the threads are quite old.

Before I buy one I had a couple questions for those with experience using this solution (XBMC + NPVR + HDHR Prime):

Is this guide still accurate as to how to set up the HDHR Prime with NPVR?

http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...extPVR.pdf

Do I attach it to my primary HTPC via USB or Network?

Are there any issues with the performance? I get the feeling that using a network stream or DLNA (or however NPVR integrates with the device) might be slow or cumbersome, especially when it comes to channel switching.

What are the advantages to using a dedicated backend such as NPVR with the HDHR as opposed to the "native" XBMC integration (which seems sloppy)?

Any overall impressions or sources of frustration?

The device isn't particularly cheap so I'd like to be sure I know what I'm getting myself into before I spring for it.

  Recording
Posted by: saitoh183 - 2013-05-16, 04:01 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I dont know if this is a known issues in general or if its related to 2.6.2

I was testing recordings a few hours ago and i programmed one show that started at 9pm and finishes at 10pm from the EPG guide in XBMC in Livetv. At 10h15 the recording was still going even after the show was long finish(no post-padding). Then i did another test this time from XNEWA addon, same issue...recording passes end time and just keeps going till i stop it manually. Third test was from NEWA in web browser and that work just fine.

I'm thinking about giving xbmc a try. Can you run it on the same box as the npvr server is running on?
