  Client live TV freeze
Posted by: scs4ldb - 2013-04-02, 12:42 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Hi,

I am suffering from an issue that other have posted, however I'm not entirely the issue is identical so I thought it best to post a new thread.

I have a set-up with 2x USB DVB-T2 (PCTV NanoSticks) devices plugged into my server (Win 7 Pro x86) with 100Mb connectivity to my client (Win 7 HomeP).

The configuration appears OK, but like others I get adhoc freezing on my client when streaming TV. This can usually be recovered by stopping the stream within the software and re-tuning from the guide.

Here are the logs from the server: [ATTACH=CONFIG]36185[/ATTACH]

And this is from the client: [ATTACH=CONFIG]36186[/ATTACH]

The timeshift files appear to continue to populate following the issue, however I do notice periods where there is little write activity on them.

Note: I am currently using v2.5.5 across server and client as I read a post about this version being more stable wrt streaming; I also have the exact same issue using 2.6.2.

Thanks in advance,
Louis

  \\server\share
Posted by: Graham - 2013-04-02, 12:38 PM - Forum: nDroid - Replies (8)

A couple of trivial things for the very end of your todo list ... I have some recordings that have been sent to a network share using the NextPVR Archive function. The folder is defined in NextPVR Settings as \\server\share. nDroid seems to be unable to play these. It's easy to work around by Archiving them back to C:\ (or, perhaps, by using a mapped drive letter) so not a problem. Plus, it would be elegant to be able to specify a video player in nDroid Settings and avoid the popup that asks me to choose a video player. (Do you remember how I began the post with "trivial"). Thanks for listening.

  System plugin skin
Posted by: Graham - 2013-04-02, 11:24 AM - Forum: Add-ons (3rd party plugins, utilities and skins) - Replies (3)

Iain, if you should ever have the time ... I have a process that gives me a new skin background.jpg every re-boot and the messages in the System plugin skin about pending recordings and active tuners are often illegible because they blend into the background. Please may we have an update so that these messages sit within a rectangle that is in a contrasting colour ... white text in a black rectangle ... red text in a yellow? rectangle. Plus, it would be handy to be able to switch between views with a key press. Thank you.

  Can't view live TV
Posted by: Alpanther - 2013-04-02, 04:58 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

I have downloaded and installed NextPVR. I connected a DVB-T stick and scanned for channels which I found. I can record channels but cannot watch them. I get a message 'Unable to find available capture device' which is a bit silly as I can record channels. What have I done wrong?

Why is 2.6.2 upgrade giving me "Error opening file for writing" error?
Posted by: Karyudo - 2013-04-02, 03:40 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Trying to upgrade to 2.6.2. Almost immediately get stopped by an "Error opening file for writing" error on NRecord.exe. I'm an admin on this machine (I'm the only user!), so what's going wrong?

  nDroid v1.8.7 available
Posted by: bgowland - 2013-04-02, 12:02 AM - Forum: nDroid - No Replies

I've uploaded v1.8.7 of the nDroid app to Google Play and Amazon Appstore and v1.8.7 of the nDroid Service to the nDroid wiki page

NOTE: Upgrade the nDroid Service BEFORE installing v1.8.7 of the Android app.

This is a minor release. Changes...

Quote:v1.8.7

nDroid app:
  • Changed the "first run" download screen to show individual files being processed when populating the database.
  • Fixed bug in Videos library which might cause a crash when selecting a video folder
  • Fixed problem with correctly identifying minimum NextPVR version required for transcoding
  • Added a "wake lock" to the music player to prevent the Android device from sleeping when playing back music
  • Various bug fixes

nDroidService:
  • Changed the way files are generated at startup
  • Various bug fixes

Cheers,
Brian

  Recordings list out of date
Posted by: trummel - 2013-04-01, 06:46 PM - Forum: nDroid - Replies (7)

I think I've messed something up. It took me a few attempts to get ndroid installed. Now it is, my recordings list is out of date. Stuff that I have recorded recently isn't there and programs that have been deleted are still there. I've tried deleteng the cache and the data, but when it reloads, it's still the same.

Also if I try to play any recording or 'Live TV' I get a message saying 'Can't play this video'.

  Categories gone mad
Posted by: Tre4Bax - 2013-04-01, 04:38 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Hi there,

So I started to set up category colouring today, and found that my categories are full of things that are not categories. Presumably this has somehow been loaded in from my XMLTV file as they were not there when I originally set it up.

Is there anyway to edit these? And will them being there affect the performance of NextPVR?

  Time Warner reorder of channels
Posted by: CeeBee - 2013-04-01, 04:36 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Time Warner recently reordered the clear QAM channels here in Kansas City, Missouri.
I thought that because my channel guide was already a mess, I might as well update the NextPVR software to 2.6.2.
I uninstalled the old one and installed the new, and did a channel scan of my HDHomeRun.
Somehow the old channel setup is still being referenced in the channel settings. Is there any way to clear these and start fresh? I also use Schedules Direct for program info.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

  EPG update whoopsy
Posted by: Graham - 2013-04-01, 12:33 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (27)

My config.xml has ...

Code:
<EPGUpdateHour>None</EPGUpdateHour> <EPGUpdateTime>13:20:00</EPGUpdateTime> <EPGUpdateEnabled>false</EPGUpdateEnabled>
and yet my nrecord.log has
Quote:2013-04-01 13:20:02.515 [DEBUG][8] EPG Updates Disabled
2013-04-01 13:20:02.515 [DEBUG][8] Cancelling wake up request for for 'EPGWAKEUP'

2013-04-01 13:20:02.515 [DEBUG][8] Requesting wake up for 'EPGWAKEUP' at 02/04/2013 13:20
It would seem that NextPVR wakes up my computer so that it can tell itself that it doesn't need to do an auto EPG update and then tells Windows to wake the computer at the same time tomorrow so that it can tell itself again that it doesn't need to do an EPG update.

I'm kinda hoping that NextPVR can be persuaded to tell itself that it doesn't need to do an auto EPG update before it goes to sleep so that my computer can sleep undisturbed.
