EPG time listing does not match program title
Posted by: minnesota - 2013-04-05, 03:04 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

Operating system Windows XP. I upgraded to NextPVR version 2.6.2 and had some problems. Then I reinstalled version 2.5.9 that had been running fine. Now I am having problems with the TV Guide. I want to record Program A at 6:00 PM. Program A is listed under 4:00 PM but another program is located there. When I go to 6:00 PM I find Program A will be recorded, but it is saved under the wrong title.

I tried to correct the problem by going to Settings>Channels>Empty EPG. Then I went to Update EPG. The problem is still there. How can I correct this so that programs, program labels, and time slots match?

.srt subtitles not seen by client
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2013-04-05, 11:10 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

When I play a recording that has srt subtitles in a separate file (<recording>.default.srt) from a client the client does not display the subtitles and ctrl-x does not give me the choice to select srt subtitles. Surley this can't be intentional?

Have I previously recorded this programme?
Posted by: jcjefferies - 2013-04-05, 10:53 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Several times recently while scanning the EPG I have come across a one off programme which I am uncertain if I have already recorded. What I have done to check is to setup a recurring recording of the one off programme and if the EPG entry turns red then I know I haven't recently recorded it. However if it doesn't turn red then I know I have recently recorded it so can immediately delete the recurring recording entry.

Some sort of less unwieldy built in function would be nice which automatically warned you that a none recurring recording is a duplicate or just a "Duplicate Check" button so you could run a manual check.

NextPVR run on Windows 2003 Server?
Posted by: Jakesty - 2013-04-05, 05:27 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I have a good working server and can't really change the OS to windows 7, but can NPVR run on 2003 without a lot of headaches? I know people who have XP seem to have more configuration issues setting up NPVR and I can't go through all of that too in addition to trying to just even get it working properly.

thanks, Jake

ZOTAC mini-PC and USB Replacement for PICe Hauppauge PVR 150?
Posted by: jksmurf - 2013-04-04, 08:16 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (12)

ZOTAC mini-PC

I saw one of these in a shop today and they are a really great size. www.gtr.com.hk
I have no idea of CPU specs etc these days, would this run NPVR OK? Playback OK?

ZBOX Mini PCs

ZBox Nano Series

Second thing is IF I got one I would have to ditch the now quite old PCI Hauppauge PVR 150, for a USB version that I can connect my cable box inputs to. Any recommendations, I prefer Hauppauge, with analogue inputs?

EDIT: Just looked at my cable box, it has mini-HDMI out as well, is there a PVR150 equivalent where I could input HDMI?

k.

  1.8.7 several(?) problems
Posted by: fuzzweed - 2013-04-04, 01:40 AM - Forum: nDroid - Replies (10)

Hi, struggling to get 1.8.7 running:
Downloading files - OK
Populating Database -OK, but slow.
Reading NPVR settings, Pending recordings. Hangs.
Unless (weirdly) I rotate the device in which case it starts back at downloading files again until I get the contradictory message ERROR=FILE_EXTRACT_SUCCESS

There's a chance that the pending recordings hang might just be very, very slow; I left it (forgot about it completely) once and when I got back maybe 40 minutes later it had moved on the the EPG hour hang, but as I hadn't edited the NPVR config file at that stage I just had to force stop and start again, and I've not got past the Pending recordings hang since.

  Tuner disable not working?
Posted by: ttfitz - 2013-04-04, 01:19 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Because of the problem in my other thread Looking-for-tuners-in-all-the-wrong-places, I had disabled the tuner in the devices setup screen, but when it came time tonight to record some shows, NPVR still used the tuner (apparently in an attempt to find a free tuner in order to do pre- or post-padding).

Shouldn't setting "enabled" to "No" mean it doesn't use that tuner?

I can post logs later if needed, right now it is in use and won't zip.

Looking for tuners in all the wrong places
Posted by: ttfitz - 2013-04-03, 11:34 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

Okay, so I just added a HDHomeRun Prime to my setup, which includes a DCR-2650, and I'm having a bit of a problem.

When I tried accessing the Prime for live tv or recordings, I get 0 byte files. The firewall was open for the DCR-2650, so I knew it wasn't that. When I looked at the attached logs, I noticed that it was attempting to capture a stream from 192.168.141.82 - which is the address of the DCR-2650, NOT the Prime.

I don't remember having to do anything special to tell NPVR where the tuner was, and it detects it fine when I go into the setup and setup the device.

Thanks.
