I've got a Win 2012 VM (on a quad cpu with lots of RAM using lots of raw disk maps) and an HD HomeRun Dual I would like to put together to create a sweet PVR backend solution for XBMC. I don't have cable, so going with just OTA ATSC signals - about 30 channels. I've gotten the HDHomeRun connected, and can successfully view channels via quickTV and even from XBMC with the .strm files.
Unfortunately, I'm having a heck of a time getting NextPVR to properly pick up on ANY channels. I've checked firewall rules for all executables, and even disabled the firewall so i'm "pretty" sure that's not the problem.
I duplicated the state of affairs by trying to get nextpvr working on a physical win8 machine; appears to have same issue.
Running HDHomeRun software of 20130328 - NextPVR 2.6.2.
When the HDHomeRun primary device is set to either NextPVR - Other: ATSC/QAM - I get the following error when trying to scan on the HDHR device:
Code:

When I try to scan via the ATSC device - I get the following:

At this point, not sure what to try next. Any advice appreciated.
New to the site and downloaded v 2.6.2 on Windows 8 machine. Checked for correct system requirements. Upon successful installation message and starting NextPVR, immediately received the message box "NextPVR has stopped working - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program." Selection "==> Close the program" is the only option. I have tried restarting, uninstalling, re-installing twice, and read the forums, with no luck. Any suggestions please. THANKS.
I am coming from beyond TV that had built in DVD burning. What is everyone using to burn DVDs from recorded shows? Also what is a .TS file? That seems to be what NPVR records.
Normally its "program title"+"program description"+"program genre"
But some shows are missing the "program description" typical shows like "the news" etc..
What happens is this is displayed normal in NPVR and X-Newa with just the program name and genre, but in xbmc all programs magically has "program description", how is this solved you ask? Well XBMC just puts inn some random ?? program discription, my guess, it uses last read program description when importing.
When I go to BBC3/4 at times other than after 7pm, or I select an encrypted channel (which I'd love to just remove from the guide) I just get a black screen and a bit of a hang. With the BBC one on tv or MCE you would get a text screen telling you when the channels are on. As NPVR does not do text this is not available so you just get what looks like a hang.
Doesn't bother me too much but my wife always calls me in thinking it has properly broken! Would be good if it just popped up a screen that says....sorry this channel is not available at this time... or something. I did wonder if there was an option somewhere that I am missing that would allow this to happen. Anyone got any ideas?
I have the above problem as stated in the title, this happens 70% of the time i try to launch a channel on xbmc.
Also when it does launch i have another issue where some channels are not recognised and will not play i do not have a log for that issue as i cant launch live tv at the moment.
Any help would be appreciated.
I am using the 12.1 biuld of frodo for faster channel changes that i updated on the advice in another thread and using the latest npvr 2.62.
I recently had to replace a non functioning main board and re-install win xp. I have been using GBPVR (since I read NPVR would have problems with xp) and re-installed it over my backup of the devnz\GBPVR directory in program files.
Almost everything works just as before (all of my recordings are found, and play, tv channels, plugins, pch opens GBPVR, etc.) but most of the buttons on the pch a-100 remote are no longer recognized during playback.
Most importantly the skipping forward or backward during playback. Strangely enough these very same buttons work just fine when being used to navigate within the GBPVR interface, they just stop working once playback starts.
I've searched the forum and wiki and tried everything I can think of.
