  Windows 2012 - NextPVR - HDHomeRun Dual - Won't Scan
Posted by: dth4310 - 2013-04-01, 04:19 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

I've got a Win 2012 VM (on a quad cpu with lots of RAM using lots of raw disk maps) and an HD HomeRun Dual I would like to put together to create a sweet PVR backend solution for XBMC. I don't have cable, so going with just OTA ATSC signals - about 30 channels. I've gotten the HDHomeRun connected, and can successfully view channels via quickTV and even from XBMC with the .strm files.

Unfortunately, I'm having a heck of a time getting NextPVR to properly pick up on ANY channels. I've checked firewall rules for all executables, and even disabled the firewall so i'm "pretty" sure that's not the problem.

I duplicated the state of affairs by trying to get nextpvr working on a physical win8 machine; appears to have same issue.

Running HDHomeRun software of 20130328 - NextPVR 2.6.2.

When the HDHomeRun primary device is set to either NextPVR - Other: ATSC/QAM - I get the following error when trying to scan on the HDHR device:

Code:
2013-03-31 23:06:23.455 [DEBUG][1] Looking for line up at http://192.168.1.135/lineup.xml?show=unprotected 2013-03-31 23:06:23.592 [DEBUG][1] Unable to download lineup.xml: System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. at System.Net.WebClient.DownloadDataInternal(Uri address, WebRequest& request) at System.Net.WebClient.DownloadString(Uri address) at System.Net.WebClient.DownloadString(String address) at NShared.HDHomeRunScanningForm.HDHomeRunScanningForm_Load(Object sender1, EventArgs e) 2013-03-31 23:07:04.743 [ERROR][1] Unexpected error in timer_tick: System.FormatException: Input string was not in a correct format. at System.Number.StringToNumber(String str, NumberStyles options, NumberBuffer& number, NumberFormatInfo info, Boolean parseDecimal) at System.Number.ParseInt32(String s, NumberStyles style, NumberFormatInfo info) at NShared.HDHomeRunScanningForm.timer1_Tick(Object sender, EventArgs e) <truncated....pattern repeats>

When I try to scan via the ATSC device - I get the following:

Code:
2013-03-31 23:13:52.599 [INFO][1] DigitalRecorder.StartStream(c:\nowhere\scan.ts) 2013-03-31 23:13:52.599 [INFO][1] Creating BDA graph 2013-03-31 23:13:52.605 [DEBUG][1] Using tuner Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 103A750D-0 (1) 2013-03-31 23:13:52.605 [INFO][1] [00000000-0000-0000-c8000000304f5602]-00000001-00000000 2013-03-31 23:13:52.606 [DEBUG][1] About to auto detect capture filter... 2013-03-31 23:13:52.606 [DEBUG][1] Skipping capture filter detection 2013-03-31 23:13:52.606 [DEBUG][1] No BDA capture filter for this device 2013-03-31 23:13:52.608 [DEBUG][1] Activating time machine 2013-03-31 23:13:52.613 [DEBUG][1] Time machine activated... 2013-03-31 23:13:52.625 [DEBUG][1] EIT collection started 2013-03-31 23:13:52.625 [DEBUG][1] Graph filter list: 2013-03-31 23:13:52.625 [DEBUG][1] - MPEG-2 Sections and Tables 2013-03-31 23:13:52.626 [DEBUG][1] - BDA MPEG2 Transport Information Filter 2013-03-31 23:13:52.626 [DEBUG][1] - MPEG-2 Demultiplexer 2013-03-31 23:13:52.626 [DEBUG][1] - NPVR TS Mon 2013-03-31 23:13:52.626 [DEBUG][1] - Tuner 2013-03-31 23:13:52.626 [DEBUG][1] - Network Provider 2013-03-31 23:13:52.626 [INFO][1] About to start BDA graph 2013-03-31 23:13:52.626 [DEBUG][1] Starting graph... 2013-03-31 23:13:52.626 [DEBUG][1] About to tune BDA graph: <tuning> <type>ATSC</type> <locator> <physical_channel>2</physical_channel> </locator> </tuning> 2013-03-31 23:13:52.627 [ERROR][1] Failed to create IATSCLocator 2013-03-31 23:14:25.620 [DEBUG][1] ActivatePopup: FixedImage 2013-03-31 23:14:25.703 [DEBUG][1] No C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts\ScreenSaverStart.bat file found

At this point, not sure what to try next. Any advice appreciated.

  "NextPVR has stopped working" failure
Posted by: bechis1 - 2013-03-31, 09:44 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (70)

New to the site and downloaded v 2.6.2 on Windows 8 machine. Checked for correct system requirements. Upon successful installation message and starting NextPVR, immediately received the message box "NextPVR has stopped working - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program." Selection "==> Close the program" is the only option. I have tried restarting, uninstalling, re-installing twice, and read the forums, with no luck. Any suggestions please. THANKS.

What is a .TS and how do you burn them
Posted by: xzb6np - 2013-03-31, 07:42 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

I am coming from beyond TV that had built in DVD burning. What is everyone using to burn DVDs from recorded shows? Also what is a .TS file? That seems to be what NPVR records.

Thanks!

  EPG bug with description
Posted by: KRA - 2013-03-31, 05:24 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (9)

Not sure if this is a xbmc bug or plugin bug.

This is what happens, I get my epg from dvb.

Normally its "program title"+"program description"+"program genre"

But some shows are missing the "program description" typical shows like "the news" etc..

What happens is this is displayed normal in NPVR and X-Newa with just the program name and genre, but in xbmc all programs magically has "program description", how is this solved you ask? Well XBMC just puts inn some random ?? program discription, my guess, it uses last read program description when importing.

Doesn't NextPVR use the deleted episode table anymore?

No defined action when signal not there
Posted by: Tre4Bax - 2013-03-31, 12:12 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

When I go to BBC3/4 at times other than after 7pm, or I select an encrypted channel (which I'd love to just remove from the guide) I just get a black screen and a bit of a hang. With the BBC one on tv or MCE you would get a text screen telling you when the channels are on. As NPVR does not do text this is not available so you just get what looks like a hang.

Doesn't bother me too much but my wife always calls me in thinking it has properly broken! Would be good if it just popped up a screen that says....sorry this channel is not available at this time... or something. I did wonder if there was an option somewhere that I am missing that would allow this to happen. Anyone got any ideas?

Hello

I have the above problem as stated in the title, this happens 70% of the time i try to launch a channel on xbmc.

Also when it does launch i have another issue where some channels are not recognised and will not play i do not have a log for that issue as i cant launch live tv at the moment.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am using the 12.1 biuld of frodo for faster channel changes that i updated on the advice in another thread and using the latest npvr 2.62.

PCH Skip/Rewind Buttons Not Working Durring Playback
Posted by: Tony - 2013-03-30, 09:39 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (4)

Hello All,

I recently had to replace a non functioning main board and re-install win xp. I have been using GBPVR (since I read NPVR would have problems with xp) and re-installed it over my backup of the devnz\GBPVR directory in program files.

Almost everything works just as before (all of my recordings are found, and play, tv channels, plugins, pch opens GBPVR, etc.) but most of the buttons on the pch a-100 remote are no longer recognized during playback.

Most importantly the skipping forward or backward during playback. Strangely enough these very same buttons work just fine when being used to navigate within the GBPVR interface, they just stop working once playback starts.

I've searched the forum and wiki and tried everything I can think of.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
