I reinstalled nextpvr and now I get a black screen after hitting the N-PVR.html from NMT menu.
Checked IP's and shares. Everything is OK as far as I see.

Generally this all works just great, but I usually only do recordings from the HD channels. I now am attempting to record some non HD channels for my children (children shows). So lets say I record something from my HD channels, they work correctly with no problems. If I go to record a non HD channel, the happauge hd pvr won't actually start recording and "live tv" will be black. if i change to any other channel it stays as black as well. the only way i can get it to work properly after all this is to uninstall the happauge drver, and then reinstall the happauge driver. does anyone have any ideas whats going on here? I have also tried to enable delay recording after channel change but that seems not to have solved anything.
anything you need from me let me know. I can quickly and easily recreate the problem by switching from hd to non hd channels. its driving me nuts.
The last few days I have started having a problem getting one of my regular feeds, I noticed in the logs it has
"The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden." & yet if I copy & paste the feed direct from my feeds.xml into the address for FireFox the page displays fine??
I'm having a similar problem with selecting tuners. I have set my recordings with no pre or post padding. I am running a slicondust homerun Prime with 3 tuners. NPVR doesn't seem to want to select a tuner that is not in use. I record several shows with WMC8 (for the wife and kids) and the rest of my shows with NPVR so I can watch them in XBMC. I have attached a portion of a log. A file is created but it has 0 KB and no info file. The problem begins on 03/20/13 at 2100 hrs. Any help would be appreciated.

Found a cheap solution to provide xbmc goodness, complete as NPVR client, to my bedroom tv, via a G-Box Midnight Android TV box. I did find the Android OS and various Android builds of XBMC not quite up to task for HD content, but after installing a specific Linux XBMC-only build firmware on the box, I can say it is fully functional, for less than $100 total. Has wifi and ethernet, and a usable ir remote with xbmc-specific buttons.
New builds are coming out all the time, and the Android and Linux builds are still beta, but very useable so far.

I find in my current configuration, I typically watch my recordings on clients, not the main server. I continue to have problems watching recordings (i.e. streaming from the server) on clients even if they are in mpeg-ts format (blank screen, no audio). However the files play fine in the Videos view. When watching I prefer the Recordings view so I only get more recent recordings to select from.

Unfortunately each and every file format would require a different sort of client/server server implementation, with different custom directshow filters etc, so its a big job to add support for each type of format. Instead I just decided to focus on the one type the app recordings, and not worry about the multitude of different file formats users could be transcoding to. mkv, divx/xvid avi, mp4, mpeg-ps etc
Sorry. If it had been easy, I would have added support for more types.
I'm wondering if it is feasible to allow a user to choose, when in client mode, to either request server to stream or playback file (like in Videos) via a config entry. This way, users should be able to playback on clients, even if they transcode to a different format.
First of all, thanks for your hard work on this project.
I installed NextPVR yesterday for the first time and was unable to view any channels, but I think I've figured out the source of the problem. My setup is fairly straightforward: HDHomeRun Prime on local network, SchedulesDirect subscription, latest NextPVR + all patches on Windows 8 64 bit.
For the longest time, I was unable to watch any channels on Live TV (black screen, no sound). I noticed that NextPVR was able to create a .ts file in the appropriate folder but the file was always zero bytes. I did quite a bit of searching and found out that this usually happens when NextPVR is unable to communicate with the HDHomeRun tuner. I then proceeded to add explicit firewall exceptions, then disable all firewalls, disable antivirus protection, etc. to no avail: still no picture, no sound, and a zero-byte .ts file.
Eventually I looked through the logs to see if I could glean anything useful and the following message caught my eye:

You see, my local network is actually on 10.0.* -- not 192.168.* . It seemed NextPVR was asking HDHomeRun to send the data somewhere other than my desktop. A quick call to IPCONFIG cleared that up as it revealed the following entry:
For some reason, NextPVR was trying to route the stream to the VMware Player virtual network adapter. Once I disabled the virtual adapters (there are two of them) from the Windows Control Panel, NextPVR then called hdhomerun_config using the proper IP address and I was able to watch Live TV!
How does NextPVR determine which network adapter to route traffic to? I can't find an option to explicitly specify this in the Settings UI, so I assume this is some sort of bug? Let me know if you need any additional info to troubleshoot.
I thought I asked before but I couldn't find the post to bump. Would it be possible the set the hh:mm for the epg update instead of just the hour? Assuming most NextPVR SD user update overnight, we are all crammed together
This ties in slightly with another wish where I'd like to see pre/padding in seconds
