Alphabetical sort for "Pending Recordings" listing
Posted by: vintdiesel - 2013-03-17, 04:46 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

There appears to be an option there if you mouse to the top of the screen but it doesn't work to sort the pending recordings into alphabetical order.

This would be handy as there has been a few times where I have added a series recording twice because I have missed it scrolling through the pending recordings listing.

  Viewed recordings listing
Posted by: vintdiesel - 2013-03-17, 04:38 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

I frequently find that I have been watching a recording from a while back, then I have to interrupt watching it, then come back later, but have since exited NPVR or someone has wanted to watch something else.

What would be good is a listing of "recently viewed" , maybe sorted in descending viewed order, so I can easily get back to what I have been watching without seeking it out from the ready recordings listing.

  importing mediaportal tv recordings
Posted by: robf355 - 2013-03-16, 09:54 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Hi

I have just installed nextpvr for use with xbmc, at the moment i use mediaportal and have a large number of tv recordings, i tried importing them into nextpvr but the import fails, no message just a pop up box with says the file was not imported. NPVR.log just has the line:
2013-03-16 20:50:03.797 [DEBUG][1] Import Recordings: C:\Users\Public\Recorded TV\20 Biggest Selling R'n'B Hits... - 4Music - 2013-03-11.xml
If i select the .ts file i get a message saying metadata not available.
Is mediaportal importing possible?
Any help appreciated
Rob

AVerTV HD Duet: Missing Channels = Bad Device or nPVR issue?
Posted by: TANKtr0n - 2013-03-16, 09:23 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (9)

The story so far: I started on Server 2012, moved down to Windows 8, and have now ultimately rolled back to Windows 7 after multiple hardware/software issues (maybe it's just me though I'd like to think I know what I'm doing). My AVerTV HD Duet PCI-e card has given me hell since day 1 with WMC & nPVR. I also have a Diamond/ATI All-in-Wonder TV 600 USB Hybrid stick. It worked fine before and after all of this trouble (in WMC). The ATI stick gets all of the channels my TV does - basic/expanded cable with some digital and HD channels. The AVerTV HD Duet however, is an ultra-failure so far and has only been able to scan a total of 14 channels in WMC and a handful more with nPVR; though aside from the major broadcast networks I could pickup OTA, they are all the JUNK channels you get with cable. I'm missing my awesome channels like FX, History, Comedy Central, etc.

I've tried an amplifier, I've tried new low loss splitters, and now I've tried a direct run of brand new RG6/Q direct from the drop coming into my home, I even pulled one of my ATI graphics cards and dumped my CrossFire config to move PCIe slots for this tuner (maybe it was a power drain or PCIe negotiation issue I thought?). None of these attempts have resolved the issue with the AVerTV PCI-e card. Here's the new and interesting news... All of those channels I'm used to on my TV that are missing in WMC and nPVR on the Duet card are show up in WMC through ATSC on the ATI stick. I'd check with WMC on the ATSC side with this card if I could but for some reason it only supports two tuners at once and it sees the ClearQAM tuners first and I don't see quite yet how to change that...

When I scan channels in nPVR with the ATSC tuners on the AVerTV HD Duet card - I get nothing.

So my question is, how do we tell if my card is bad or if there's something going on behind the scenes with nPVR and this card?

Just to clarify any confusion with this AVerTV card in question - it has one coaxial input to split the signal out internally on the card to ClearQAM x2 and ATSC x2 so it's viewed as four devices by nPVR - though Windows sees it as just one device in Device Manager.

Winows 8 nPVR 2.5.9 with Kworld DVB-T USB tuner '395U' blue screens
Posted by: GrayGirling - 2013-03-16, 05:27 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I have a relatively new Windows 8 installation and have been installing NextPVR 2.5.9 (patched with the fix rollup).

I have also just installed a Kworld plusTV DVB-T '395U' USB tuner together with the most recent driver from the manufacturer's site http://global.kworld-global.com.

(I've also added the various bits of dependent software required in the Wiki.)

When I scan for channels as part of the setup for this device windows 8 blue-screens with a KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE after the second block of frequencies has been scanned (no results).

I guess this could be a problem with the driver, but has anyone seen anything similar in nPVR?

Alternatively has anyone had any joy from this tuner on windows 8?

  HVR-2250. Really NTSC OR ATSC?
Posted by: merc82 - 2013-03-15, 08:55 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

I've been considering replacing my HVR-1600 to improve ATSC reception. I want to keep the ability to record NTSC and ATSC. I'm considering the HVR-2250 but reading the Hauppauge web site I see there's only one antenna/cable input for TV and one for FM radio. Can anyone with this card confirm this is the case? I would have expected Hauppauge to have one input for NTSC and one for ATSC/QAM like they did with the HVR-1600.

Issues with streaming on NEWA and X-NEWA. Are they related?
Posted by: bobbydazzler - 2013-03-15, 08:51 PM - Forum: X-NEWA - Replies (20)

Hi All

Below I have tried to describe in as much detail what I am trying to do and the issues I have come up against. I have not posted logs yet as I am not sure which ones you would need and what action I should capture in the logs. I should also point out that I have been dabbling with this set up for a few days and I seem to be two steps forward, one step back. I do feel though that this still has merit if I can iron out the kinks. Thanks in advance...

The Solution Requirement

  • A whole home DVR system with remote client machines
  • Ability to rip DVDs into media gallery for viewing on remote client machines around the house
  • Ability to view DVDs directly on remote client machines around the house

      • X-NEWA add-on. I get a second of video and then it stops/freezes or kicks me back to the EPG
      • NEWA web page. Clicking on ‘View Live’ on the channel number launches VLC in a webpage window but no audio or video is played. The status in VLC at the bottom says “Idling”

• Can NOT view recorded Comcast digital channels I receive in the following applications;
• NEWA web page. Clicking on ‘Manage Recordings’ and then selecting ‘Play’ launches Windows Media Player (not sure why). No audio or video is played.

What I haven’t tried yet;
  • I can get iNEWA on my iPhone and initiate recordings but I have not attempted to see if I can stream to a mobile device.

  UK Freesat HD Channels
Posted by: jpb - 2013-03-14, 10:53 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Hi

I recently made a few changes that caused me a few issues with NPVR, the result of which is that I can no longer receice HD channels. I have tried completely uninstalling NPVR (and deleted all files from both Program Files (x86)\NPVR and \Users\Public\NPR and the registry entries), and even uninstalled / re installed the two TV cards (Hauppage Nova S2 & Nova S Plus) but even after re-install & rescan I cannot get HD channels! They are found during the scan as H264 HD and appear in the channel guide as DVB-S (should they be DVB-S2?), but just display a blank screen.

I can confirm that the S2 card can receive HD as I have tried it with WinTV7 and it works fine - but WinTV7 doesn't appear to do everything else that I want to do (and I prefer NPVR!)

Does anyone have any ideas?
