of the 3 views in the default skin, I prefer thumbnail view (be good if you could specify a different view for different top level folders too) - would be good if NPVR would look for video.avi/video.xml/video.jpg/video-fanart.jpg and a keyboard shortcut to show the metadata - or using covers view, show the xml in the space above?
been quiet in here for a while, just thought I'd report my progress
I'm about half way through swapping out knockoutjs to angularjs and jqueryui for bootstrap (still using some jqueryui)
progress has been a little slow because
- Christmas
- New Years
- My brothers wedding/stag do
- I'm building my first house, so spent lots of time networking it up etc, and running around sorting stuff out for it
Also there has been much demand for this on the forums, so I figure I can just take my time as not many people really want to use it anyway
At my new house I will be installing a server in a cabinet, which will be a completely headless unit, so personally I won't be using nextpvr app for configuration where possible and using this solely.
I'm assuming this feature hasn't been implemented yet as I can't find any documentation on how to do it so i was wondering how others are working around this. I would also love to be able to deal with conflicts through NEWA so I can schedule a one time recording in place of something else please.
I installed the x-newa zip file, but when I try to configure the add on the only options xbmc gives me are uninstall, and disable, configure is greyed out. When attempting to launch it tells me the script failed. Did I do something wrong on the install? Eden is listed in the read-me first sticky so I figured it would work.
Windows 8 Pro 64 bit
Black gold DVBT2 Tv card
Plenty ram
I had npvr working fine and thought I would try Media Portal and XBMC. Didnt like them so I uninstalled them. Went back to npvr and now that doesnt work.
It kept saying failed to start service. So I uninstalled it and tried again. I get the same thing now. Failed to start recording service. I have tried changing the settings. Deleted npvr from the registry but nothing seems to work.
There is no N logo in the system tray like before. In services it shows there but says click to start. I pressed that and soon as it starts it fails.
Could anybody tell me how to get this to work again. Such a fool for trying something else.
I have attached some screen dumps of what the errors say. Any other info or logs to post to shed any light on this please let me know and ill get them up
I'm getting dumb in my old age, or just lazy. Why is it that on my phone the transcode live Tv and recordings is greyed out? What do I need to do to enable this feature?
First i would like to say that NextPVR may be the product i have been looking for, in terms of functionality, ease of use and simplicity. This except for the showstopping problems i am experiencing:
System info first:
Windows 7, fully updated, Different USB tuners: PCTV NanoStick 73e (single tuner), Elgato EyeTV Diversity USB stick (twin tuner), Hauppauge WinTV NOVA DUET (twin tuner).
NextPVR: 2.5.9 with Cumulative Update - January 12, 2013 - NPVR 2.5.9 Patches R2
Provider: Norwegian RiksTV DVB-T with MPEG4 HD streams and HE-AAC audio, unencrypted (free to air) channels set up only only.
Here is how the problem appears:
First i will start live TV and all will be working as expected, then i will press ESC and the main menu appears. From this point live TV will only render a black screen, and all attempted recordings will be zero length. No restarts of NPVR client or Service, will fix the problem, The only thing that i have found to restore normal operation is physically unplugging and replugging the usb tuner. I have tried this on all the three mentioned USB tuners, in combinations one or more tuners attached at the same time. I have also installed NPVR on two different systems and the problem appear the same on both:
1. Shuttle XS35GTV2, 4 GB RAM, Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit (Win Mediacenter completely removed as feature).
2. Hp EliteBook 8530p, 4 GB RAM, Windows 7 professional 32 bit.
Comments to attached logs:
2013-02-01 00:56:18.761: I start the first live TV session by. This all works great with picture and sound
2013-02-01 00:56:46.663: I press ESC key to exit from live TV to main menu.
2013-02-01 00:56:53.880: I start the second attempt at viewing live TV, and there will only be black screen. Notice that all subsequent "GetDuration" log entries report "0", like there is no data streaming from the tuner. Probably explains the fact that any recording started after this will also be zero length.
