I wanted to run dvblink on my IX2 NAS but just can't get the software even to work on a PC. Meanwhile I tried NextPVR which does a great job. Would there be a way of squeezing it onto a NAS drive as that would be really good.
I know that my local transmitter is Meridian White hawk but when I scan it only 9 channels appear. I set scan to all but I get loads of duplicates. When I try to use remote viewing nothing works. Go back to the few channels that do and all is well again, live TV streams. If I do an all transmitter scan how do I work out which channels belong to which transmitter so I can try and organise it into a working system.
PS Love the software, combined with xbmc this is the perfect answer for me once it's all working.
One of my NextPVR Vista Clients regularly locks up when "TV Guide" or "Recordings" are selected after it boots up. In task manager NPVR is listed as "Not Responding" but have only just realised that if I wait about two minutes there is the SQL "Database Locked" error.
Today after rebooting the client I still get the "Locked" error but if I click "OK" after a couple of minutes I get an empty TV Guide. I started the other client and this gets no errors when it tries to access the database. One client regularly gets these errors and the other dosnt. I rebooted the server and both clients can now access the database. However the server reboots overnight so any locks let from the previous night would have cleared.
As for as I can tell the Windows setup is the same for both clients, both with UAC off and starting NextPVR from the same batch file in "Startup" which starts the NextPVR server using WOL if it is sleeping.
I have enclosed NPVR.log from the client for a database lock but there is nothing else covering this time in the Windows or NextPVR logs of the client or server.
Hi,
I have nextpvr 2.5.9 without the latest patches and use a usb ir receiver connected to a nettop pc running win7. I use the mvp bundled ir remote and on the whole it worked out of the box. The problem I get is with the numbers 0-9. When I am playing a recording and enter the numbers on the remote they appear on the screen top left correctly but if I use the skip forward button it only skips 1 minute and not the number of minutes I just entered. If I use a wireless keyboard and enter a number then press the skip forward button on the remote it jumps forward the number of minutes I have entered correctly.
Any ideas? Skipping 55mins into an hour long recording is tedious to say the least....
I am new to nextpvr and after having spent some time setting everything up, I have come to a point where everything is working fine but missing a few features that I am not sure is included in nextpvr or is available as an addon/plugin or is not available at all. I did some searches here but couldn't find the answers I was looking for so I am posting this for help!
I initially setup my htpc with wmc but since MS doesn't seem to want to improve it anymore, I am looking at nextpvr for a replacement and possibly xbmc+nextpvr (tried xbmc+npvr lately but appears to be not too stable, xbmc will lose connection with npvr after a while saying that no tuners are available or something like that. I need to write down the error msg/get logs but thats for another thread).
-Anyways, the features I was looking for was the equivalent of the Movie Guide you have in wmc, where it will use your guide data and pull all the movies from it and display them all together with the ability to sort for HD only movies for example. Is there something similar in npvr? I found that feature particularly useful, once in a while I would browse the entire movie guide and schedule recordings for upcoming movies. Very easy to see whats coming and to schedule recordings for it. I wish I could do the same in npvr.
-There is also the ability to see a mini guide while watching live tv in wmc where in npvr it is only showing a single channel with the next program. Is there a plugin that could enhance this? Display a 2-3 row mini-guide with the equivalent functionality of the fullscreen guide?
Please note that I have the tvlistings plugin installed (its feature to link to the TVDB is pretty awesome. Wished the process was a bit more automated but its still awesome in its current form!)
In Settings -> Channels there is a "Source" column...What does this indicate? The wiki does not describe this at all on the channels configuration page.
The reason I ask is that mine always just shows -- whereas, my sister's setup shows a 2 ??? She is having problems with her shows recording empty or black screens and has errors indicating device is not available or can not lock channel... Just wondering if this is an indication of the problem? Her cable company is going through the transition now so there is constant need to re-tune and remap. Have we accidentally merged something in the rescan process?
Sorry, I am not on her PC (trying to resolve via phone conversation) so I don't have the logs. FYI - Her setup is win7x64, Hauppauge HVR-2250 tuner, and latest NPVR and patches..
On the 1st February the DVBGuide mapping for one channel changed (ITV +1)
There are 5 entries in the TVXML file produced for this channel - maybe to do with regional variations?
Before where there have been multiple entries for a channel the first entry has always been the correct one. On 1st Feb suddenly epg for this channel was showing no details. After lengthy investigating I found that the Virtual Channel No had changed to 0 on the first entry in the channelinfo XML and 33 on the second.
I went in to the settings, channel, detail screen and changed the TVXML to the second entry, but it refuses to stick - always reverting to the first entry.
In the end I used sqlitespy to change the channel id in the epg mapping cell directly and all is now OK
