Google Market Upload - Freeze during populating database
Posted by: jghanisco - 2013-01-29, 05:39 AM - Forum: nDroid - Replies (12)

I have not used nDroid before, so this has been my first attempt today. I had problems this morning, have reinstalled all, and still run into the same problem. I seem to have a proper connection to my nPVR server, and nDroid on my phone downloads the files, then extracts the files, then moves to populating database. The circle will continually run if I keep the screen active, swiping every minute to keep it from going to sleep. I have done this for 20 minutes, and not have it finish. If I let it go to sleep, the circle swirl stops moving, and then I get the message of nDroid stopping.

nDroid server is on a WinXP box, no firewall active, latest nPVR installed. 1.8.6 of nDroid on the phone, 1.8.4 on the XP machine. Google 4.1.1 installed on a Nexus S, still 2 GB available on the USB storage. 3 folders on the sdcard, logos with all channels, an empty skin folder, and a temp folder with 30 items (12 zip files).

I can run nTouch to view tv listings, haven't tried anything more. Logs included if this helps any. Hopefully this is user error!!

PVR500MCE analog card - captured video is pixelated with minor skips
Posted by: drugstore_cowboy - 2013-01-29, 03:44 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

Hoping for some assistance Smile I haven't been here in a super long time but recently I threw my old analog PVR500MCE dual tuner into a Windows 8 box and installed NPVR. I did all the normal stuff to bypass UAC and it looks like everything is working with the exception of a strange video capture issue I am hoping someone might be able to shed some light on.

I can watch live tv, record etc but the video is pixelated and has some very minor skipping. I assume the channels I am getting are still coming in analog (not sure how to test as I don't have an old analog tv to test with) but could it be possible the signal is clear QAM and the analog tuners are able to capture them, just not 100% accurate? Hence the weird pixelation?

I did use the trick of exporting the latest hauppauge WinTv7 software files into the softpvr folder as was previously done (I couldn't find my original cd). The drivers installed are the latest 2.0.48.25037 for the card. Everything really does look like it is working but the encoding is a bit messed up?!!?

Thanks for taking the time to read this... and if you have any suggestions (other than buying a new card Smile ) I would love to hear it. I have attached my logs just in case but from my vantage point, they look good.

What video format does NextPVR record in?
Posted by: beachguy - 2013-01-28, 09:23 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (17)

Hello, I have been looking at alternatives to Windows Media Center for a PVR and found NextPVR and this forum. But after looking through the website and doing a Google search I have been unable to find an answer to a basic question: when recording TV shows with NextPVR what video format are they saved in?

I would like to record shows and edit out the commercials using an editing program like Adobe Premiere. I tried out Windows Media Center but the files are saved in a "WTV" format which can only be edited after converting to something else, which is a cumbersome process and even then the results were not good. BeyondTV appears to save in Mpeg2 but I'd like to avoid paying $100 for a program.

So what format does NextPVR use?

Thanks!

  Application Error
Posted by: saitoh183 - 2013-01-28, 01:48 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (7)

Been a few days since i had touch NEWA and i came today to modify my recurrent schedule and when i click on any show, i get

Code:
Server Error in '/' Application. Runtime Error Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine. Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off". <!-- Web.Config Configuration File --> <configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="Off"/> </system.web> </configuration> Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL. <!-- Web.Config Configuration File --> <configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/> </system.web> </configuration>

I tried http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post450607 but i get the same problem. Im guessing this problem is also the reason Recurring Recordings in X-NEWA shows Unknown for Channels.

Issues with TBS 6981 (Dual DVB-S2)
Posted by: imilne - 2013-01-27, 07:54 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (6)

I've just got one of these, and while it appears to work fine most of the time, I've noticed a weird screw-up from it when something outside of NPVR tries to detect what tuners I have installed (specifically DVBGuide or EPG Collector).

When they do this - just the detection part, not the tuning/collecting EPG data part - they cause the data stream being delivered to NPVR to get interrupted. That either black screens Live TV or breaks any recording in progress.

Has anyone else noticed this? I'm running 32bit Windows 7.

  PostProcessing.bat and VideoReDo TvSuite4
Posted by: Wakalaka - 2013-01-27, 06:19 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

SOLVED: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post450831

Attached is Scripts.7z, which has my comskip.ini, ParallelProcessing.bat, PostProcessing.bat, and support tools. I have comskip run in ParallelProcessing.bat, and PostProcessing.bat waits until the .VPrj file is created, fixes it up, then runs VideoReDo to remove commercials and create a cleaned MPG file. I will manually run transcode.bat for files I want to convert the cleaned MPG to MP4 with Handbrake, and I will manually run wipecleanmpg.bat to delete the cleaned MPG files because NextPVR doesn't delete these files (by design). It works out because you can delete the recording from NextPVR, but be left with the cleaned MPG file if you ever want to transcode and save it.

Problem statement
I have this in my PostProcessing.bat (which is also attached):
cscript //nologo "C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoReDoTVSuite4\vp.vbs" "%~dpn1.VPrj" "%~dpn1_clean.mpg" /na /q "/p:MPEG2 Transport Stream"

When PostProcessing.bat is called by NextPVR, it appears that Video ReDo is exiting without doing its work, and thus I can't take the cleaned MPG file and convert it to MP4 with Handbrake at the end of my PostProcessing.bat.

When I open a command window and run PostProcessing.bat, Video ReDo is able to do its work and thus Handbrake can convert the cleaned MPG file to MP4.

Any idea why VideoReDo is behaving differently, even though the same commands are being executed?

  (feature request) queuing recordings
Posted by: masterful1 - 2013-01-27, 01:41 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (2)

This may not be doable, but I would really like it if I could queue up recordings like I do videos. I don't know if it is an xbmc issue or an npvr add on issue.

Often need to restart xbmc to see new recordings
Posted by: digidad - 2013-01-27, 01:18 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (6)

As an example, overnight NextPVR recorded Star Wars:Clone Wars. When I looked under 'Recordings' in the morning, it didn't show the new recording and the 'Next Recording' widget on the Home screen showed last night's 'CTV News'. I closed xbmand opeded the NextPVR client and found the shows had indeed been recorded. When I relaunched xbmc, the shows then appeared under recordings and the 'Next Recording' widget properly displayed the next job.

Is this a known issue? Which log to upload?

  vlc as client
Posted by: vranik - 2013-01-27, 12:56 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Hi, i don't know if this is right place for this, but i'm kind if getting started with this :-).

I'm using NextPVR as TV backend for xbmc and it's great. But i need to use it more universaly (for VLC).
I get some info how run streams in vlc, but only one instance. When i start new stream in different machine
(same multiplex, different channel / or same channel), that previous streaming is canceled.

i use this request:
http://<server>:8866/live?channel=4

next i get info to use this:
http://<server>:8866/live?channel=4&client=vlc1
http://<server>:8866/live?channel=4&client=vlc2
...
it's working ok, but i'll be happy if server do this. I have one playlist and many user in local network use it. By this behavior is uncomfortable. Is there some setting to change it, or some plugin? thx

Need help with USB Analog Capture Card selection
Posted by: nurowolf - 2013-01-27, 11:41 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Am looking to build a new HTPC - but want to make it a small footprint - so am looking for USB capture cards.

Am looking for Analog captures cards. Specifically to capture through
a) traditional coaxial cable areial
b) RCA
c) S-Video

To further complicare matters I am in Hong Kong - so some of the more traditional brands are no longer available to me.
So I was wondering if anybody had had any success with the following

http://www.avermedia.com/Product/Product...spx?Id=495

I can get AVERMedia products - this looks perfect for me - but not sure if it is support by NPVR. Can anybody provide some directions on this please.

Also - can somebody suggest what models would be good to use for my purposes? The 2 brands that are easy to get are AVERMedia and Magic-Pro.

Thanks Nuro.
