  HDHomerun/NextPVR/LiveTV problem
Posted by: POF - 2013-01-27, 11:12 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

I have troubles getting NextPVR to show liveTV.

I'm running Win 7 Home Premuim 32 bit and a HDHomerun (Dual tuner) latest firmware and software.

I have opened the firewall for the PVR programs.

I have made a scan on all devices in the nPVR Settings/Devices. I got 100+ channels on all DVB-T, DVB-C and HDHR. I tried different Video Renderer and Decoder settings. For the moment I have EVR and Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder.

Selecting the Live TV option in the main menu gives me a Please wait for 10 sec and then a black window. After maybe a minute I mostly get this message:
The tuner you were using was required for a recording. Would you like to switch to watching a recording, or exit back to the menu?
or
Unable to find capture device (only one time)

When entering the LiveTV, the nPVR icon in the system tray turn red.

I'm able to watch LiveTV in WMC but I think WMC is pretty annoying and want to switch to NextPVR/XBMC. In WMC I made it work by doing the scanning like I have antenna but in fact I have cable tv. I think this is due to different standards in US and the in Denmark (Yousee).

I can also watch LiveTV from the HDHomerun QuickView.

I have attached my latest log file.

  Disable (not delete) Channels
Posted by: jrockow - 2013-01-27, 03:06 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

When I scan my device I get over 500 channels listed.

Let's say I only want 80 of them enabled in the guide.
I'm new, and the only way I know how to accomplish this is to delete the other 420 channels.

Problem is, next week I may want to add to the guide one the channels I deleted.

Is there no way to just disable a channel without deleting it, so I could simply enable it again?

Thanx.

  W7 firewal woes
Posted by: OTAjunkie - 2013-01-27, 01:23 AM - Forum: nDroid - Replies (1)

Hi Brian,
I've been anxiously waiting for your next release since nDroid's premiere.
All works well only if I drop Windows Firewall.
I had the same problem with the first release but I can't remember the fix.
No problem on my router, ports 8790, 8791 are forwarded and I can connect via WiFi or WAN with Win firewall off.
Windows Firewall Exections include NDroid Service
Windows Advanced Firewall has an inbound rule for NDroid Service set to 8790, 8791 for UDT and TCP.

What else can I do?

  External Player support
Posted by: gEd - 2013-01-27, 01:01 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (14)

Would be really nice to be able to launch an external player to playback recordings and videos (based on file extension).
Then we could use MPC-HC with MadVR renderer and experiment with all the nice upscaling features which it has.

i.e. a feature just like the XBMC external player support http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=External_players

NPVR Throws .Net Error on managing Reoccurring Recordings.
Posted by: bigstusexy - 2013-01-26, 11:40 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

Hello,

Ever since I updated to the R2 Patch I have had some issues. One of them is that two recordings that I do that cross 12 AM have slipped to the next day. I'm just trying to correct those recordings and when I hit save I get an error:

Error 1 in text

If I hit continue the updates seemed like they didn't work but the recordings for this week do show they are on the right day now.

The same thing happens if I try to set a new reoccurring recording.

Error 2 in text

The errors put me over the character limit, see Net-Error.txt

Edit, I take that back. I was looking at the reoccurring recordings which state that it should take place today but the actual pending recording says tomorrow the 27th.

This release has fixed the now/next and the transcoding (with NPVR 2.5.5) issues for me - great work Brian.

  nDroid v1.8.6 now available
Posted by: bgowland - 2013-01-26, 06:39 PM - Forum: nDroid - No Replies

PLEASE NOTE: This version requires v1.8.4 of the nDroid Service. You must update the service before installing the nDroid app. See the nDroid wiki page.

With apologies for releasing 3 updates in as many days...

From the change log:

Quote:2013-01-26 - 1.8.6

nDroid app:

* Fixed problem with Now/Next and Timeslot EPG views showing incorrect information in list separators

* Added correct highlighting for pending/running recordings in Now/Next EPG view

* Fixed problem with watching Live TV and Recordings incorrectly defaulting to transcoding mode

* Fixed problem where Recordings playback failed with ethernet

* Various minor bug-fixes

nDroidService:

* No updates

2013-01-24 - v1.8.5

nDroid app:

* Fixed problem where server details and credentials were wiped on upgrade

* Improved startup time of Now/Next and Timeslot guide views

nDroidService:

* No updates

2013-01-24 - v1.8.4

nDroid app:

* Changed EPG file format to use 7 individual XML files instead of a single 'seven day' XML file. Hopefully this will prevent 'out-of-memory' problems when importing EPG data for a large number of channels.

* Changed 'Now Showing' guide view to 'Now/Next' (see 'Known Issues' section on the wiki page).

* Daily EPG updates now performed automatically by a background service hard-coded to trigger 30 minutes after the NextPVR automatic update. If there is no network connection available, download and update of EPG data will be triggered next time a network connection is enabled.

* Scheduling / cancelling recordings now handled by background service. If there is no network connection available, requests will be queued and processed next time a connection becomes available.

* Added a notification system to provide information in the status bar relevant to background service activity.

* Added 'Full text search' facility. Press the dedicated Search button or go to 'Settings' -> 'Search' on a device without a dedicated button. (See 'Known Issues' section on the wiki page).

* Added transcoding options for streaming Live TV and recorded shows from the Recordings views. NOTE: this requires NextPVR v2.5.11 or above. Only preset options are currently available with Low (256x144), Med (512x288) and High (768x432). Each have two choices of bitrate.

* Added ability to use wired ethernet connection (not tested).

* Added a Music Player. Currently quite primitive and definitely a work-in-progress but with potential of more advanced music playback options.

* Dropped support for Android v2.1 and below as current statistics show that users have at least v2.2 installed.

* Various bug fixes

nDroidService:

* Changed the daily file generation code to refresh all file data including channels and npvr config data and to split the EPG data into seven individual XML files.

* Various bug fixes
If you have any issues please start a thread in the nDroid support forum.

Accessing EPG in XBMC crashes XBMC
Posted by: kcog - 2013-01-26, 07:26 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (1)

First I have to say how awesome it was to install NPVR and get it up and running in XBMC in almost no time. I just came from WEEKS of trying to get first TVHeadend, then MythTV working with XBMC on Linux. What a headache! With NPVR I was watching channels from my HDHomerun Prime in no time. (not counting setting up my Prime with cablecard, etc., which I'd already done).

Anyway my problem. I can watch my cable channels via LiveTV on XBMC using sub's add-on. I can switch channels and see the channel list. But any time I try to access the EPG, XBMC hangs, then crashes after a few minutes (the audio from whatever channel I was watching keeps going, but the video freezes.)

I have a desktop system running NPVR in my office, then a little AMD Fusion-based nettop running W7 with XBMC in the HT room, which acts as a front end to the office PC as a backend.

NPVR logs are attached.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

  Remote control acting weird
Posted by: ttfitz - 2013-01-26, 05:40 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

In my continuing quest to learn how to use NPVR fully for my soon to be built HTPC, I was messing around with the remote control from my DCR-2650 and something strange happened. In the past I've been able to use the Play, Pause, Rew, etc keys during playback of videos and with live tv. But all of a sudden, none of the keys seem to be working with NPVR. The arrow keys work, the number keys work, but none of the video navigation keys do. Well, that's not completely right - the REC key seems to now be mapped in some fashion to REW.

I thought it might be a problem with the remote itself, but the keys work properly in XBMC, and WMC, just not NPVR. I'm certain I haven't made any changes to configuration files, could something have happened without my knowing it? I have tried checking and unchecking the settings option for "Handle MCE Remote events", but it doesn't seem to matter which way it is, the arrow keys work but the video nav keys don't.

Any ideas?

Recording failed - repeatedly for specific shows
Posted by: CodeeCB - 2013-01-26, 01:19 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (4)

Good afternoon -

After the help of a generous forum member, I was able to get updated to the latest and greatest version of NEWA. I am for whatever reason unable to schedule seemingly specific shows though.
From just guessing, this seems to be the area of concern but I have attached all the logs as I am very possible incorrect.

2013-01-25 19:06:33.320 [ERROR][18] Recording not scheduled. Recording not found after calling NPVR API to schedule the EPGEvent.

I tried to set a series recording for "NCIS" on Sunday for example and it would not take it no matter what after trying multiple times, but then I tried setting a series recording for "Last man standing" and another random show in the same time slot and it worked the first try.

Please let me know if I can provide you with any more info, I am loving this setup so far and have switched to XBMC+NextPVR almost exclusively now from WMC.

Many thanks -

Cody
