  Import time incorrect
Posted by: Clanky - 2012-09-14, 08:57 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

I was playing around with & made sure I had a recording-backup before I started doing anything.
I had to import a recording but the displayed recording time is wrong. It shows the recording was 22:00 - 23:00 when it should have been 21:00 - 22:00.
The file name is New Tricks_20120910_21002200.ts and here is the section from recording-backup.xml

Code:
<recording> <oid>12351</oid> <name>New Tricks</name> <channel>BBC One HD</channel> <filename>E:\TVRecordings\New Tricks\New Tricks_20120910_21002200.ts</filename> <status>READY</status> <startTime>2012-09-10T20:00:00.0000000Z</startTime> <endTime>2012-09-10T21:00:00.0000000Z</endTime> <Event> <OID>7767525</OID> <Title>New Tricks</Title> <SubTitle></SubTitle> <Description>3/10. Queen and Country: Crime drama. DS Pullman breaks the rules to explore a possible cover-up at the Foreign Office when the team reinvestigate the apparent suicide of a diplomat. [HD] [AD,S]</Description> <ChannelOID>11626</ChannelOID> <StartTime>2012-09-10T20:00:00.0000000Z</StartTime> <EndTime>2012-09-10T21:00:00.0000000Z</EndTime> </Event> </recording>

I've checked that the pc date, time & time zone are correct

Solved - "stop" button on WMC started causing two stop signals to NPVR (IntelliType)
Posted by: smiffypr - 2012-09-14, 04:18 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

Posting this in case it helps anyone else, now or in the future.

After years of working, suddenly, when I pressed stop on the windows media center remote control, NPVR responded as though it had been pressed twice.

I didn't have to rack my brain for long. I had just got a "Microsoft wireless keyboard 2000" as my old IR one had become intermittent. The culprit was the "Microsoft IntelliType 8.0" which came on the CD with the keyboard. I un-installed that and tried the latest download version "Microsoft IntelliType Pro 8.2 Keyboard Software for Windows - 32 bit". This really screwed things up. Pressing "stop" for the second time caused the NPVR to close and I got a message saying that windows has closed the program "To help protect your computer". After that the machine was completely locked up and the only thing it responded to was a power reset.

The keyboard works fine without this installed, just the programmable keys don't work.

NPVR 2.5.5: Not Quite Fullscreen When Waking Up
Posted by: z06racer66 - 2012-09-13, 11:27 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

When I wake the computer up (and NPVR was already running prior to going to sleep), NPVR won't be fullscreen even though it appears that it is "fullscreen". Make sense? Anyway, attached is as jpg showing what I mean. Also the npvr.log is attached too but doesn't show anything.

Thanks.

  ASUS 713x Analog capture
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2012-09-13, 03:56 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

Sub, I remember that this card did report only 320x240 resolution but you were able to force it to 720x576, and that works fine. Could you supply an experimental patch to try to force the resolution to 1280x720? Also the recordings from this card claims to be PAL but has a framerate of 29.97, any idea why? It is connected to a STB via the composite connection.

  Firefly remote in NPVR.
Posted by: cyclonegt68 - 2012-09-13, 04:33 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Has anyone got the Firefly remote to work? I copied the data required for the Hauppauge remote into the .xml file, but that didn't seem to work. I only have the arrow keys and the escape key working.

Not a big deal if I need to go buy an MCE remote, but if I can get the old firefly working, that would be great.

What do I have to pay so I don't get these !@#$%^ing colour picture adds displaying at the top of the forum pages, that Chrome one (which wouldn't come up when I tried to get a screen capture...of course) is the worse I have seen so far & I find them bloody distracting.

  Pausing weirdness and "encrypted content"
Posted by: jdvuyk - 2012-09-12, 09:02 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

Hi all. yes, I have searched. I impulsively posted in another thread about this issue but no results. So I figured I would outline my issues once and for all before I roll-back to my old previous version and wait. Which would be a shame considering i was really looking forward to the updated features. :-(

I was running 2 major versions back for quite some time. No major issues but would crash fairly regularly. Pausing was mostly reliable.
But Subs work on the latest version was very tempting so I backed everything up and in-place upgraded. All was smooth, no issues.

But my most used feature, pausing, is really bad. if I pause for a few mins and then unpause it will always jump forward. This appears to be somewhat proportional to the amount of time paused. so if paused 5 mins, might jump forward 1 min. if paused 10 mins, might jump forward 2 mins. These are just guesses, you get the idea. if I then jump one-click back in the timeline it goes right back to what I believe is the start of the buffer file. This might be 20 mins or more before I pressed pause??! If i then jump forward repeatedly until i get to the point in the timeline that I paused, nPVR crashes. Well the timeline locks skipping like a scratched CD. If I press 'stop' lots of times I can generally kill the picture back to menu.

Additionally, if I pause a long time (30mins or so) then on unpause it will crash. sometimes around 10 mins after tinkering with pause the screen will go black and I will get an "encrypted content" in the top right. This hasn't happened with any live content.

So, as you can see pausing is unusable for me. so if I cant figure it out, im going to have to forget about this version and use my backup. which would a shame.

I did all the 2.5.5 R1 patches. No changes.
Logs attached. Any ideas are appreciated.

Thx.

  Videos menu
Posted by: mattyb - 2012-09-12, 07:54 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Is there any way to have the contents of the Videos menu display vertically over the full page (a la GBPVR) ? It seems the defaul behaviour of NPVR is to list them horizontally which makes it tricky if you have a lot of files to scroll across through.

Thanks in advance for any help.

What filename stores info assigning channel frequencies to channel names (QAM)?
Posted by: Scanjo - 2012-09-11, 10:40 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

I'm using ver 2.5.5 with current patches on Win7 in USA. My cable company can't seem to make up their mind what channel frequencies will be from one month to the next. I finally got things setup and working again. When assigning channels, some of them aren't there anymore (the guide side of things). I'd like to be able to look through the old file, get the guide info I need, and copy and paste into the new file with the new frequencies for the channel. I know you fine folks can help me out with that. Smile I hope I have explained it well enough but if not, please get back to me and I'll try to clarify.

Thanks in advance for the help.

NPVR 2.5.5 craches due to artifacts in HD recording // Tool for cutting *.ts files
Posted by: fjbpchristiaens - 2012-09-11, 08:05 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (14)

Hi,

Recently I repeatedly encountered the issue that NPVR hangs-up while playing a recording from an HDTV (German) channel. The rest of the recording seems to be ok (if I jump over this particular point, the rest of the movie plays without any problem). The log-file shows absolutely nothing.

If I replay with another player, I can see that on the particular point where NPVR hangs up, some digital artifacts occurs (probably some noise on the cable or an issue with the writing of the file) after which the play-back resumes normally. As I understand this discription is a bit thin, I tried to isolate the "issue" part of the recording with a ts file cutter to obtain a much smaller file, but the result always seems to get re-coded: if I replay it in NPVR, I now see the artifacts as well in NPVR but NPVR continues the play-back (so no hang-up).

My question: does anybody knows a free-ware software to cut ts file without touching their contents/recoding?

Thanks in advance,
Frederic
