New recording indicator for each title at recordings list root level
Posted by: cncb - 2012-07-24, 02:39 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

It would be nice to have a new recording indicator for each title at the root level of the recordings list (when you are looking at the recordings grouped by title). Perhaps it could go below the # of recordings text for each title on the right side. It would be handy to see at a glance what titles have a new recording to watch.

NextPVR as a backend for XBMC
Posted by: psycik - 2012-07-23, 11:23 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (84)

What might be required to get this going?

I've heard XBMC can drive PVR functions on MythTV or on MediaPortal. How I have no idea, I've not looked.

But now that things like the ATV2 can run XBMC and the raspberry PII, I'd be curious as to what is required, and if there would be any appetite in the community for it.

Help with my Dune HD Smart D1
Posted by: metroke - 2012-07-23, 07:11 PM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

Hello

I am new here on this forum but i am lost because i do not know where to post my message.

I have just bought a Dune HD Smart D1 and i just can`t seem to get my files on my computer. I know i can get to my computer but all i see are the 4 files that everybody on the network can see. Music, pictures, playlist and videos.

I need to get on my drive ( D ) and there are all my files i need like my downloaded movies and other stuff. Why can`t i see my files. I am on Windows 7 Ultimate and my drive is shared.
If i put back my other player i had before this one well i can see my files but as soon as i get back to this player i can`t see them anymore.

Hope i can get help here

Thanks in advance

Easier way to update "moved Channels"
Posted by: nx01 - 2012-07-23, 06:23 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Ok this may sound a daft question, but now and again channels move around on transponders from the astra satalites.

As each channel has its own SID is it possible to scan transponders and just update the ones you already have mapped? I find it a pain to rescan clean it all up and then deploy it to the 4 dvb-s tuners I have.

Many thanks

  Recordings Database
Posted by: dvasco - 2012-07-22, 09:24 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Which file do I look at to see which shows will be under Ready Recordings? I have some shows recorded that don't show in that screen and I would like to compare what's in my NPVR Recordings folder with what is in the database. Once I identify which ones are missing how do I add them to the Recordings database?

  Max number of recordings...
Posted by: rhui_bc - 2012-07-22, 12:40 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (16)

Hi,

For some reason, I can only get NextPVR to record 12 different channels.

I have 10 hdhomeruns, for a total of 20 possible channels.

But for some reason, when I try to record all 20 at once, I see the files get created, but only 12 grow in size while the other 8 stays at 0 bytes. All channel signals are good.

Any ideas why it always stops at 12 recordings regardless of which channels/which tuners get used?

The network utilization on the computer is only 11%, it is writing to a lsi megaraid 5 array with 8x3tb HDs, so should beable to handle the write demands.

  Aspect Ratio Help
Posted by: hilltopper06 - 2012-07-22, 03:57 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (21)

I am running NextPVR 2.4.3 on Windows 7 x64. I am using two Hauppauge 1850's (Analog/Digital Combo tuners). I connect to a 16x9 1080p HDTV through HDMI. I use a AMD 780g/Radeon 3200 HD for video out. All of my HD content comes in great. I get my analog and a couple SD channels and they work well, but I cannot figure out my aspect ratio and GUI issues.

When I play any SD channel, the GUI shrinks to 4:3 on my 16:9 display (it doesn't span the full width of the TV and looks scrunched together). Also I have to use the Fill setting, as any other setting makes the video appear extra slimmed down.

This is a problem when viewing an Analog channel that has 16:9 content. The video will have black borders all around (top and bottom, since it is 16:9 content in a 4:3 format, being displayed on my 16:9 screen). I need a zoom ratio, but all the ones I try fail, I can never get the video to even occupy the left and right border areas of my screen. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

  EPG Update Hour Not Functioning
Posted by: rwnz - 2012-07-22, 03:49 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

I'm having a problem that EPG Update Hour does not run UpdateEPG.bat in the C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts folder, nor does it wake the computer if it is in sleep mode at the time programmed. No logs in C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Logs show activity at the time programmed for the EPG update. The computer wakes OK to record though. The setting is:

except that I change the hour as I test it.

I have noticed that when a recording starts, the NRecord.log does acknowledge the EPG Update Hour

Code:

but I don't understand what this is about as it is not at the time set for EPG Update Hour, the script does not appear to run (which it shouldn't do at the time of this recording), and it happens at the start of any recording. At a guess, the "About to update EPG" I've highlighted is probably to update the guide from the existing EPG file, and one possibility for "About to run C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts\UpdateEPG.bat" is that this batch file is also run every time a recording is made, in which case I may have a problem with my UpdateEPG.bat, though it runs OK when I open it directly and it doesn't explain why it doesn't run at the set time.

minor bug with "Next Recording" in Recordings Panel
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2012-07-21, 05:26 AM - Forum: TV Listings - Replies (2)

I finally got around to trying TV Listings again, and I must say it's quite impressive; it very much wants to replace the default TV Guide on my system. I did run into a little bug with the Recordings Panel though:

I didn't like the "Recording Soon:" display listing recordings happening a full day later, so I shortened the 'Recording Soon' time: to 8 hours. That's a better definition of "Soon" to me. However, now if there are no recordings at all in the next 8 hours, the "Next Recording:" display lists a recording that won't happen for many days, and always the same one... "America's Got Talent" in my case, which recorded this past Tuesday and won't record again until next Tuesday; it said that show was Next all morning yesterday, and all morning again today. As soon as it gets within 8 hours of a recording, everything works again as it should.
